The Pueblo Revolt of 1680 resulted when numerous Indians tribes united and drove the Spanish out of New Mexico. Some call this America's first revolution.
The Spanish eventually returned to an uneasy peace with the Puebloans.
New Mexico became part of the United States as a result of the Mexican-American War and the massacre at Taos. The annotations for the rare and hard to obtain materials are in the print book.
