...“May magic not exist! Anyway, I like magical stories! With them, my life seems brighter...” she thought.
Suddenly, the girl’s thoughts broke off: right in the middle of the road, she saw something... Of course, it was not a fairy or a unicorn! Upon closer inspection, the white, wet lump turned out to be a dog. It was a charming white bulldog with huge sad eyes. A bright green collar could be seen on the dog’s neck. The bulldog looked so sad and unhappy that Tanya's heart trembled.
“Poor dog,” the girl said, “you must be lost. Yes, and you have the collar. But where is your people?”
Tanya looked around, but saw no one. There was no one in the park. Only she and the sad bulldog stood opposite each other on the sidewalk in the rain. The dog whined sadly.
“Parents do not allow me to bring animals home from the street. But you are clearly lost. I will try to return you to the owner. Come with me! At home, I will examine your collar. Surely, your owner’s phone number is written on it! Is not it?”
The bulldog whined again. Tanya sincerely sympathized with the dog that she was ready to cry.
The dog seemed to understand every word the girl said. She calmly went next to Tanya, staying as close to her as possible to hide from the cold rain under the wide umbrella.
Soon, the girl and the dog got home. Tanya opened the door with her key. Parents were always at work at this time. The girl took off her wet jacket and opened an umbrella to dry.
Tanya looked at the bulldog, who had modestly sat down on the rug near the front door. The dog seemed to understand: dog can’t walk around the apartment with dirty paws.
“Let's go to the bath! I will wash you with warm water, because you are cold and you can get sick.”
The dog understood every word and obediently went for the girl to the bath. Soon, the bulldog sitting in the kitchen, thoroughly washed with soap, dried with a hairdryer and wiped with an old towel. By the way, in the process of washing, Tanya found out that she sheltered a girl bulldog. Having dried up, the dog gladly ate from the ceramic plate the finely chopped pieces of boiled meat that remained from yesterday's dinner.
“Eat! Enjoy your meal!” cheered on her ‘pet’ Tanya. “Now I will pour you into a bowl of fresh water, and then I will examine your collar! I will certainly find your owner! I’m sure that owner's phone number is written on the collar!”
When the dog drank water and ate something unusual happened.
“Thank you, kind girl, for helping me!” said the bulldog to Tanya in a human voice. “Actually, I am a fairy, my name is Emerald! But the Dark Fairy Tenebris stole the magic diamond, which was my magic power, and then turned me into the dog! Tenebris hates bulldogs! And so she turned me into such a form and left me! I wandered around an unfamiliar city for a long time, got into the rain, got wet, froze, got hungry and became very weak! I couldn’t even speak... But you helped me, kind girl! Let me know your name.”
While the bulldog, the enchanted fairy Emerald, said, Tanya's expression gradually changed. At first, her eyes widened in surprise. But this did not last long, and the expression on her face became skeptical. When Emerald finished speaking, Tanya smiled and said:
“Hello, fairy Emerald! My name is Tanya! And I would like to welcome the respected hosts of the TV show ‘Shooting a Hidden Camera’. I have heard about this show many times. If I’m now shown on TV live, I want to say ‘hello’ to mom, dad, grandparents, school friends and teachers! And of course, I want to greet my childhood friend Petya, with whom we meet every summer, when I come for summer holidays to a small but very cozy town, to my grandparents!”
The dog looked at Tanya with round, surprised eyes...
