Harraga by Antonio Lozano Book Summary
Harraga aborde la question de l’immigration clandestine entre le Maroc et le Sud de l’Espagne. Conduit par le personnage principal – un jeune garçon de café tangérois–, le lecteur pénètre le monde trouble du trafic d’êtres humains et des intérêts économiques et politiques agissant des deux côtés du détroit de Gibraltar. Mais ce roman est avant tout une plongée dans le parcours intérieur de l’émigrant qui a décidé de se lancer dans une terrible aventure avec l’espoir de connaître une vie meilleure. Antonio Lozano est né à Tanger en 1956, il est professeur de français aux Canaries où il dirige un festival international consacré au conte et à la créativité théâtrale. Harraga est son premier roman. Déjà récompensé dans son pays avec le prix Novelpol du meilleur roman noir publié en 2002, il a aussi obtenu une mention spéciale du jury pour le prix Memorial Silverio Cañada, organisé par la Semana Negra de Gijón et qui distingue un premier roman écrit en espagnol. Il fut salué lors de sa parution par l’écrivain espagnol Manuel Vázquez Montalbán.
