For his real fans. Bret hart talks about the professional wrestling business in great detail from his perspective and experiences. If you’re a devoted fan of the hitman like I am, this book is a must read. I’ve heard complaints that he goes too deep, gets too granular about the details of his career… he wrote this book just like he wrestled, with excellence of execution. He left no stone unturned and was honest and pulled no punches.

The hitman lives forever. Going into this book, I did not like Bret Hart. After reading it Bret hart has become one of my favorite people. Good read.

3.5 stars. As a female I would never read a wrestling book in my life however I did have a bit of a crush on BH when I was a teen so I figured "why not"? The beginning is very detailed and the book is quite lengthy but I can say the opinion or idea I had of BH is totally different now that I read the book. He seems so much more human than his persona that I grew up with. I applaud him for writing this book. His family issues are heartbreaking (and hits close to home for me as well) and living in Connecticut so close to Vince McMahon it made me ashamed to say we are even from the same state. Shame on VM-he exposed and played people for his own gain and still seems to do that today. A very detailed yet easy read-not disappointing at all!

Bret is amazing!. I've always loved the hitman. But after reading this book I can honestly say I love Bret. What an amazing wrestler and, more important, person!

Great!. Bret was my hero since I started watching at 10 years old, he was more larger than life than Hogan ever could be. This book was an emotional roller coaster, but there remains no doubt in my mind that Bret was the best hero a kid ever could have. As I lay here 20 years later, my Bret stuff still hangs on my wall. I know now that Bret was not perfect, which makes him even greater in my eyes. Great Read!

The best. Best wrestling autobiography ever.

The Best Wrestling Book.. If any wrestler should write a book, it had to be Bret Hart. I enjoyed reading his story very much. I cried and laughed. The only thing I wondered is why Bret stayed in the business so long. He should have retired after WrestleMania 12! This is a must read for any wrestling fan!

Great inside look @what he an the wwf were about!. Being a fan of wrestling in the late 80s and early 90s. It took me back to the time of staying up late. every Saturday night hoping there would be a Saturday night main event. The parts about his family,brothers and sisters were very insightful. Just like all our families. the ones you think that should hold you in the highest regard and lookout for you ,usually do the opposite . Great read even if you are not a wrestling fan!

For wrestling fans of the 80's. If you were a wrestling fan in the 80's I think you'll like this one. If not, it may be a little long and boring for the reader.

Attention wrestling fans. Having grown up watching pro wrestling with my dad, I found this book extremely interesting as I remember watching most of the things talked about in this book. If you are a wrestling fan, then this is a must read for you. The in-depth and honest talk from one of the greatest performers of the business is absolutely captivating. 5 stars.

Wow. I never ever put this book down. It was a roller coaster ride of story.

Best Author there is, best author there was, best author there ever will be. To say this book gives you every detail of Bret "the hitman" Harts life is accurate...I relived my favorite montes and learned about the other moments in his life that were not on camera. Bret talks about himself and everyone around him as humanly possible. He inspired me when he was a wrestler and now as an author. Thank you Bret.

The Hitman. As a boy I watches The Road Warriors, which morphed into watching WCW. I did not like Bret Hart at all. I watched through the nWo years and when Bret came to WCW I thought of him as smug and arrogant. THEN....... I read this book. After reading this book I have the utmost respect for Bret Hart and my heart goes out to him. This is a fantastic book and a must read if your a wrestling fan. Wow, I was blown away by this one.

The Truth Behind the curtain. By far one of the best books I have read in a long time, if you was a fan of wrestling in the 80's & 90's get this book. However be preparred to find out that some of your childhood hero's where not the people they claimed to be

Must read for any wrestling fan!. Great in depth look at behind the scenes and life of Bret Hart...I tell you, you will definitely have no respect for some of the WWE superstars after reading this.. Also..If you wanna know about the real Vince McMahon, read this! Vince and Shawn Michaels screwed Bret!

Great book!. For anyone Who is even slightly intrigued by Bret Hart's storied career, this book is for you! Bret talks about everything from his days before he started at Stampede all the way up until Stu passed away. I would have liked to read more about his days in WCW, but overall the inside stories he gives are remarkable.

Can't put it down!. If you grew up during The Hart Foundation era, you will LOVE this autobiography. You get to learn about the man behind the ring and read some hilarious stories that will actually make you LOL. Loved this book! This is a story about wrestling when it was pretty much Rock N Roll!
