An in-depth look at human character in the face of overwhelming odds. As is usually the case, the true heroes are the unspoken, unrecognized ones. A great read.

Excellent!. Wilkinson has written an excellent book that tries to unravel what happened on K2 in August 2008. He masterfully weaves in the saga of not only the climbers themselves, but their families and support teams back home. He also sought out and interviewed the Sherpas who of course played a key role in the events. The result is a page turner, and engagingly written narrative of the story. I think he's come as close as any to figuring out what really happened that day and the next. Highly recommended by this armchair mountaineer.
