Fantastic!. I read the paperback version of this novel four times. Every time I read it I discovered something I've missed the first time. One of the most engrossing and lovely novels I've ever read. I highly recommend it to anyone.

What a great read.. My only regret is that I didn't read it before I visited London. I retained much more history from this novel than I did from reading guidebooks. I read the iBooks version; I was very sorry that the maps and genealogy charts were much too small to be helpful and would not enlarge.

Entertaining book about London. It is now a book easy to read. The characters story is taking too much from the real history side. More historical details would have been great.

Great Read. This book brought London to life. The narrative is inviting and the structure keeps the reader engaged. If you are traveling to London, this book is a required pre-read. Spectacular!

Lumber Yard. Rutherfurd’s fictional account of several London families across millennia lumbers along in fits and starts. Some stories are more interesting than others, and there are a few too many coincidental intersections of the families. Moreover, there are inexplicable omissions—one would think that the Wars Of The Roses didn’t happen. But the best sections make for reading that is fun and informative, and the portrait of an historically polyglot London is compelling.

Great read. Captivating reading with a brilliant blend of history and fictional characters and events that bring the history of London alive.
