Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore Book Summary

Enter the Graceling Realm and let it work its magic in this unforgettable novel from New York Times bestselling author Kristin Cashore.

When Queen Bitterblue took the throne of Monsea, she was a child, and her advisers ran the kingdom for her. Now she is beginning to question their decisions, especially how they handle the legacy of her father Leck, who who ruled through his Grace—a special talent for mind-altering—and his taste for darkness and violence. Bitterblue needs to know Monsea’s past to lead it into the future, so she begins exploring the city sreets at night, disguised and alone. As she does, she meets two thieves, who hold a key to the truth of Leck's reign. And one of them, with a Grace that he hasn't yet identified, holds a key to her heart.

Bitterblue is a gateway to the Graceling Realm that braids together magic, memory, and romance.

Look for Kristin Cashore's highly-anticipated return to the Graceling Realm, Winterkeep!

Love. I love this book and this series! Continuously entertaining!

Can't wait!!. Can't wait to read this!!! I loved graceling but unfortunately I don't think katsa and po r in this one as much:(

Bitterblue. Cashore just gets better and better with each book. I will admit that Graceling didn't do much for me, but Fire completely blew me away. But both Graceling and Fire are about extraordinary women; Bitterblue is about an ordinary young woman trying her best to be queen in a world screwed up by her psychopathic father. I think Bitterblue is Cashore's best effort yet.

too long. I found this book a complete exorcism of inner demons, going round and round in the collaterals of evil and not as much action, romance or character development as with Graceling, so I didn't like it. It has good moments and I do not regret paying for it though, as now I have closure. Thumbs up to the glossary by the librarian. I also do not agree with the acknowledgments section: making Po compensate for his blindness with his grace is not disrespectful to the differently challenged or differently abled to be PC, I have seen it is just what happens when one must focus to develop one specific part of one's persona.

A+mazing!!. This book rounds the story the two before it so well with tons of twist and plots that keep you coming back for more. Kristen Cashore is an amazing author. The characters are built with life and color in each individual way. The stories are gripping and full of action and twist I never suspected. An definite MUST read for all!!

Beautiful. I deeply recommend reading Fire and Graceling before reading Bitterblue, in order to fully appreciate it. It was beautifully written, and it tied up the series quite nicely. I loved all of the characters And I love this amazing world Kristen Cashore has created. It's a great read.

Wow!. I've read all 3 books and give them all 5 stars. Come in Kristen! Give us another series!!

Excellent but not a children's book!!. Love it! Was sad to see it end. IMO info revealed about her takes this out of the "children's novel" category.

Awsome. Great story line it is a perfect book would not recommend for 8 and below because they talk curse words but beside that great!!!

Great addition. I love all of these books if you haven't read them you should she's brilliant!

Great read!. I have been anticipating this book forever and finally finished! I loved the book and would recommend it to anyone. I do hope the author writes more of Bitterblue and Giddon as that is the only part of the story left unfinished for me.

dragge on. I was really looking forward to his book and was disappointed, it would not end and the plot was really boring at times. At times it got really boring.

It's no Graceling!. Loved Graceling, hated this. First 1/2 was good and then it got lost. Forced myself to the end. Hope Fire is better.

Bitterblue unciphered. First of all I must say how fantastic these books have been for me. Graceling was a great story and an amazing romance novel, that delved deep into the mind of someone who felt like a puppet. Fire was inspired and I thought brought a great view into an emotional character who is learning about herself and teaching the reader about the world around her. I thought the love story in Fire was very well developed as well. Bitterblue is my favorite of the three and I think the best plot by far. It is the longest of the three and because of this may seem "boring" to some at times, but the writing of Cashore makes the characters so life like, that sometimes we need a little boring to balance out everything else that is going on in the plot line. Also in that big of a book repetitive, unending action would make the whole thing seem unreal. Cashore is such an amazing writer I almost want to ask her if she is graced with storytelling. The characters are so life like at times it's scary. She lets each character have their own story rather than focusing too much on the main character. Long story short these books are a must read and will always have a place on my bookshelves.

Love it. I hope she writes more, her stories are amazing the way they interconnect... And I always fall in love with at least one of her characters.

Opinion. I personally didn't care for the ending, but over all the plot flows nicely.

Had potential. This story had the potential to be good and started off interesting, but didn't keep up the momentum. My biggest issue with the author's novels is how they are categorized under "children". I'm not sure what ages this refers to, but the subjects discussed in all three novels are much too mature and inappropriate for children. Also, I thought Graceling was the best out of the three, then Fire and I enjoyed this one the least.

Bitterblue. A wonderful read!! Recommend that Graceling be read first. Knowing that story brings the characters of this one to life in a colorful, imaginative, heartfelt way....

Haven't Read It Yet ;). Finally its here! XD! I havent read it yet but imma give it 5 stars based on how AMAZING Graceling && Fire were! ;P

Could not put down!. Bitterblue allowed me to reconnect with old friends from Graceling and Fire. I only intended to read a chapter yet was swallowed once more into the enchanting, enormously creative world of this author. After reading the entire novel in one sitting (my poor family made do with takeout), all I can hope for is the next installment. One of the most talented writers this genre has ever seen. Worth the read!

Finally!. Since I have to rate it i'll give it 5 based on her preceding novels, but of course, I haven't read it but I've waited 3 years for this book so I'm super excited it is finally going to be published! Gracling and Fire were both amazing books and I'm sure this one will be just as great.
