Lenore finds a friend,. Jon I have read many of your books. I would say this book is geared for young children, rather then adults but just the same I am an animal lover myself, had three wonderful dogs. They were pretty close to each other in age and we loved them very much. The first of the dogs was Nikki. She was a cross between a Great White and a husky. We got her from Sacramento ASPCA. She was the gentlest dog I’d ever known. Not to be outdone my younger son, Christopher being about 18, wanted a dog for himself so on the way home from work one day he stopped by the Animal Shelter and fell in love with a six month old Pit bull terrier and yellow lab. He promised he would take care of her and brought home our newest family member, Roxy. Shirley, my wife being somewhat frightened of pit bulls, said, Not in my House, but we took her with reservations, home to live with us. Because my son was working so much and hanging with his girl friend, Jessica. Well that did not leave much time for Roxy, so we ended up with her care as well It was Christmas time and my dad and step mother received two little puppies from her sister and could not handle a Basset Beagle mix, about the size of an open fist. What could we do? Christopher and Jessica had to have her and with the alternative, taking her to a shelter, we brought another dog into our home. Her name was Abbey and soon became part of the family. Unfortunately life for dogs is shorter than human beings. Nikki started have seizures in April Of 2015 while my wife was on a cruise with her cousins Nikki’s condition became critical and we (my sons and I ) had to have her euthanized. Very sad time. Nikki was almost fifteen at the time. Abbey, in the summer of 2016 stared going into convolutions, that no one could controls do she too passed away. She was almost 14. Roxy. Was my girl she followed me everywhere. But we were not done yet. In December of 2016 I fell breaking ribs and having a repeat bout with a disease I had had in 2010. I was on life support for six days, in a coma. I missed Christmas once again. But I was in the hospital for two months during that time Roxy started going down hill, she was moving as well as she had before I had gone into the hospital. She started having accidents around the house and two weeks before I came home they took her down to the vets office and had her put to sleep. I don’t mind telling you I cried. In fact I was unconsolable. I, we had had this wonderful dog for 15 1/2years and I couldn’t even say good bye. Jon, things have gotten better but it was a struggle for quite a while. Jus Fil. Ashley's Review. My seven year old daughter.... I think it was good because Lenore (the dog) made new friends. I think the pictures were really great. I liked that the pictures were real and had lots of details in them. It was pretty easy to read. Dad says.... I was worried about buying this because the preview does not show how complex the writing is. Decided to take a chance on it and was pleasantly surprised. A cute story with great pictures. I can especially appreciate an amateur author making the most of the Apple process to publish a book that might otherwise never see the light of day. Maybe a little pricey for the content, but I suspect we will read it more than once.
