Saving Tom Black, a Western set in Arizona in 1888, is sure to please any reader, whether or not one likes Westerns. Follow Betsy DuBonnet as she escapes from the Orphan Train taking her West and embarks on one of the most adventurous escapades of her seventeen-year-old life. Befriended by a black porter who finds the blonde beauty hiding in a cattle car, he helps her disguise herself as a boy so she can travel alone more safely in the wild West. Her disguise as Tom Black fools few, however, especially Jake Silver, U.S. Deputy Marshal.
This story is funny, sad, tender, and action-packed. It's the first book in the Jake Silver Adventure Series.
