Another Great iBook. This iBook is a great follow-up to Peter's first book. This book is full of primary source materials and I also appreciate the links to common core standards. Nice job!

Another Amazing Book. Peter's first book was great. I didn't think he could make another book that seemed as new and fresh as the first. I was wrong. A Significant Resource for Today's Learners. Workers Win the War is an impressive companion to Peter Pappas' first book Why We Fight. His skillful combination of photographic, audio and visual sources, supported by brief, concise text and probing questions, stimulates the student to interact with primary sources on multiple levels. Particularly noteworthy is the selection of governmental propaganda posters which have been precisely organized in a manner that will cause the " reader" to reach conclusions about the American worker of WW II compared to the American worker today. The new portrait format enables the student to view each poster full screen - very helpful for analysis. A rich array of resources, including a selection of rarely viewed pamphlets, encourages a historian's stance of inquiry. As with the first book, Why We Fight, the format and organization allow for independent, small group or large group instruction which makes the material suitable for traditional classrooms, tutorials, and on-line classrooms.
