Pizzas, Pirates and a Porcupine by Barbara Godwin Book Summary
When Evie runs to answer a knock at the door it isn’t the pizza girl with a delivery, but a pirate with a treasure map. He stops for lunch, and is soon joined by a troupe of pirates with their pets – an elephant, chickens, a spider and a baby porcupine.
They dig all afternoon, but they don’t find any treasure. Dad knew they wouldn’t. He’s only just finished building the house and he dug down deep for the foundations.
The pirates don’t believe him. He’s a scurvy knave who has stolen their swag, they say, sharpening their cutlasses on the door step. Evie has to think quickly if she is to save him. But is there really treasure? What is the pizza delivery girl up to? And who will look after the baby porcupine that is curled up, asleep on her trainers?
A fun read for 6- 9 year olds.
This is the Book 1 in the Pets and Pirates series. See Book 2 "Eggs, Pegs and an Elephant" for a story about the baby elephant, whose name is Edward.

Pizzas,Pirates, and a Porcipine. I give this book a four because I like it but I don't love it. It has a lot of funny humor but has good characters in this story.

Amazing Book!. Very nice pictures especially the pirate ones and the baby elephant. The story perfect for ages 6 to 7. Simple sentences for them to read alone. The story is captivating for both adults and kids. Lots of fun!!!!
