Das Chamberlain-Beispiel by Moritz Bargmann Book Summary
In dem Werk „Anarchie Staat Utopia“ von Robert Nozick tritt dieser für einen Minimalstaat ein, der im Wesentlichen nur die Funktionen eines Nachtwächterstaates im Sinne des klassischen Liberalismus erfüllen soll. Alles darüber Hinausgehende ist nicht zu rechtfertigen. Im Gegensatz hierzu legitimiert John Rawls in „Gerechtigkeit als Fairness“ Umverteilungsmaßnahmen; sein Buch kann als Gegenpol zum Werk Nozicks betrachtet werden. Ich werde im Folgenden das von Nozick entwickelte Chamberlain-Beispiel diskutieren. Anhand dessen möchte er seine Anspruchstheorie stützen und gleichzeitig beweisen, dass strukturelle Verteilungsansätze wie sie von Rawls befürwortet werden, unhaltbar sind. Das Gedankenexperiment soll zunächst aus der Argumentationssichtweise von Nozick dargestellt werden. Anschließend sollen die Vorwürfe gegen Rawls diskutiert werden. Insbesondere möchte ich mich dabei der Frage stellen, inwieweit es Nozick gelingt, mit seinen Argumenten gegen die Konzeption der Gerechtigkeit als Fairness zu überzeugen.
