Filled with love and affection. I have new found respect for this career. I already knew it was a heart wrenching and emotionally straining career. But the way Hadley has cared for and taken into her own heart and life has completely moved me. This is the most beautiful book I have ever read. 💕

Just perfect. This book is easy to read and hard to put down. I love how Hadley made medical knowledge and her job so palatable for the everyday person and really focused on the humanity of her job. Can’t recommend it enough!

Wow!. Hadley is an absolutely amazing story teller, who brings you right in to each home of her patient. Her passion and dedication to her patients and her work is shown through every page. If you’ve ever wondered how to improve your patient/provider interactions, reading Hadley’s stories will help you do just that. I honestly am sad I’ve finished the book, I want more!

Inspiration. This book provides so much inspiration. It was truly a spiritual book to read without being “preachy’. Everyone should read it.

An unexpected healing journey. I have not stopped crying since I picked up your book. These stories are so incredibly moving and well told. Wonderful Book. Absolutely loved this book. I bought the audio book as well. I restarted reading this one a couple times because I did NOT want to finish it. I am 24 and my job is the furthest thing from a hospice nurse there probably is but I related sooo much surprisingly. Many tears and laughs. I will most likely keep rereading this book until I have the whole thing memorized.

Thank You Hadley!. I was actually looking for a leadership book to read but my heart kept pulling me to this. This book is what I NEEDED.

An Inspiration. This book, novel, is incredible. There are so many beautiful stories and lessons to be learned from the patients and Ms. Hadley was well. I could not recommend this more to someone you has seen hospice care first hand. It is really eye opening.

Incredible. As a nursing student and someone who had a negative experience with hospice in the past, this book was eye opening in so many ways. I don’t often read books for enjoyment and I finished this in 2 days! I am recommending this book to everyone!

Beautiful Book. This book is beautifully written and takes you deep into the author’s life and lives of the patients and families she worked with. It is both relatable and eye opening, and makes you think (and makes you cry!). An easy, but heavy read that anyone will love! Highly recommend!

10/10 Just read it!. Absolutely a tear jerker in the best way, this will have you looking at not only passing differently, but living life as a whole!

The In-Between. My Mom was a hospice RN and she was dying an untimely death at 61 years old. This just happened 7/26/23 and while she was in the hospital and at hospice I met many people that made an impact on me. But one nurse from the organ donation company really made a difference. She recommended this book to understand the work my Mom did. These are very well told circumstances of end of life care. This book gave me a sense of peace about all of our differing beliefs in afterlife. I have a lot of respect for hospice workers and will forever be so proud of the work my Mom did. This book was very helpful after my Mom’s death. I’ll never be over it but some days the backpack is lighter.

Moving and inspirational. I had followed Hadley for a while on social media and this was the first time I ever waited for a book to release and pre ordered. I am not much of a reader but I absolutely love this book and look forward to opening it every time! There is a perfect mix between stories of her patients as well as her journey in her spiritual and personal life. If I, or anyone in my family ever needed a hospice nurse, I would want it to be Hadley <3 Thank you for writing this and please do more!!

Great but TW should be in beginning. I really liked this book but major trigger warning for eating disorders. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone in early recovery.

A Must-Read for Everyone!. This book is powerful, impactful, and inspires one to examine what we cannot explain more closely. As a hospice nurse myself, the ups and downs of the profession resonate with me. It can be difficult to explain some of the phenomena we witness each day, and hearing these beautiful stories is a comfort. It truly is a specialty that requires compassion, empathy, and a lot of self-care. Wonderfully written, difficult to put down. Great read!

A heartwarming description of spirituality, grief, and growth. I came across Hadley on TikTok and knew that I had to read this book. As a writer, myself, I was blown away by her eloquence and wit. However, as I continued reading, my heart was touched as I recalled the stories and passings of my personal loved ones. Beautiful read.

Eat the cake… read this book…. For years I’ve struggled with my relationship with God and the universe- this book just validated so much for me. I enjoyed, laughed and cried through every chapter.

Love. I loved this book a ton. I cried a lot. It’s was great, I wish it was longer and then I noticed like one or two details not finished (like the text with her boss) but I couldn’t tell if it was on purpose or not and it didn’t effect the storyline at all

Perfect title. I had goosebumps through the entire book. There were so many impactful stories that I know I will be thinking about for a very long time. I’m so glad this book was written, it gave me so much peace 😭

Amazing Read!. I’m nowhere near an avid reader like I used to be, but this book is so worth reading, especially if you’ve had someone you’ve loved that has been on hospice. Nurse Hadley does a great job show casing the personalities of each of her patients and you get a background of her, too. It’s worth the read, for sure!
