Himmel! Warum bestellt mein Bruder mich mitten in der Nacht irgendwo in die Pampa? Vielleicht hätte ich besser nicht gefragt, ganz sicher nicht. Jetzt stelle ich fest, dass manche Bücher einfach keine Fiktion sind und mein Bruder ein Mitglied des Rates ist. Ich wusste ja nicht einmal um seine sexuellen Vorlieben. Na super. Und dann treffe ich im Ratshaus auch noch Preston wieder und mein kleines verräterisches Herz fährt Achterbahn. Nur leider nicht nur wegen ihm. Auch dieser Jackson ist toll und ich hier eigentlich völlig fehl am Platze. Ich hatte mir meinen ersten Urlaubstag irgendwie anders vorgestellt.
Allison stellt sich ihrer Vergangenheit, der Gegenwart und der Zukunft. Längst verloren geglaubte Gefühle und eine neue Liebe stellen ihr Leben ein wenig auf den Kopf. Zudem muss sie sich den Ereignissen ihrer Vergangenheit stellen und damit ist sie nicht alleine. Auch ihr Bruder ist involviert und ahnt selbst nicht in wie weit. EIne Achterbahn der Gefühle wartet auf alle. Niemand außer Allison wusste, was damals wirklich mit ihr und ihrem Bruder geschah und niemand außer Allison weiß, dass die tödliche Krankheit wieder zurück ist.
