Prekariat by Guy Standing Book Summary

In seinem Buch gibt Guy Standing eine Einführung in das, was er ›Prekariat‹ nennt: Jene durchaus völlig inhomogene Gruppe von Menschen rund um den Globus, die unter unsichersten Bedingungen arbeiten, gewöhnlich in kurzfristigen Beschäftigungsverhältnissen ohne langfristige Perspektiven, meist ohne genügende soziale Absicherung oder andere Schutzmechanismen. Standing legt dar, dass diese neue Klasse die westlichen Industriegesellschaften destabilisieren wird. Das Prekariat wird zunehmend frustrierter und gefährlicher. Jene, die keine Stimme haben, sind folgerichtig anfällig für die Lockrufe populistischer und insbesondere rechtsextremer Parteien. Guy Standing stellt diesem Szenario ein modernes auf Solidarität basierendes Gesellschaftsmodell gegenüber, das auf allen Ebenen mehr Beteiligung der Bürger_innen ermöglicht und so eine Antwort auf die Prekarisierung der Weltgesellschaft gibt. Wesentliches Moment der sozialen Solidarität ist für Standing ein staatlich garantiertes Grundeinkommen.
