Take Me Now by J.H. Croix Book Summary

✔️ A hotshot firefighter, emphasis on hot.
✔️ A smart, sassy heroine.
✔️ A cat with a crush.
✔️ Hot, hot, hot chemistry.
✔️ Small town gossip run wild.

A swoony hotshot firefighter romance from USA Today Bestselling Author J.H. Croix!

It all started when my cat needed something expressed. Do I have to explain?

That’s when Farrah Taylor walked into my life, a fantasy spun true. Aside from stealing my breath, she handled the awkward situation with aplomb.

Turns out she’s my neighbor, and my grumpy cat has a crush on her. He’s not the only one.

Neighbors with benefits is the perfect option. I don’t have time for romance.

Until I want more. Until just being neighbors isn’t enough.

Farrah & Cooper’s story is perfect for readers who love small town romance, hotshot firefighters, broody heroes, smart sassy heroines, neighbors who don’t believe in love, a cat with a crush, opposites attract, slow burn, emotional romance with a dash of angst, plenty of steam and swoon, and a deeply protective grumpy hero.

*A full-length standalone romance.

My new favorite. This is now my new favorite from this author. Cooper and Farrah first meet when he brings his at, Humpty, to the vet clinic where she works. They’re both attracted to the other, but don’t act on it. Come to fond out, they’re neighbors. Will their neighbors with benefits become more or are they both too damaged from their pasts? No spoilers, so grab your copy and see why I absolutely loved Cooper. I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Take Me Now. Cooper and Farrah’s story starts with him moving to get away from his ex fiancé and ex bf. He moved in beside settles into his new job as a firefighter. Farrah and her mom moved a few months before him due to her mean, abusive stepdad died in a car wreck. So when he is needed out on fires she offers to watch his grumpy cat since she’s a vet tech, and so the love story goes. A good well written story with Humpty that I volunteered to read for my honesty

Wonderful. A wonderful story with likable characters and a fantastic scenery for a storyline. I loved their sizzling interactions and palpable energy that gave this story such an alluring vibe. The scenes were well written and captured the essence of the characters beautifully. I enjoyed reading their story.

Cooper and Farrah. Take Me Now is another hotshot sizzling story that takes place in Willow Brook, Alaska. I love how JH Croix writes her descriptions of Alaska they are breathtaking, that reader will love reading them. Cooper is the hotshot from NC and Farrah is a vet tech, they meet at the veterinary clinic with a cat that Cooper is adopting. I loved the cat! The story of their relationship is fun, emotional, heartfelt, and it sizzles. I truly enjoyed how JH Croix intertwines her book characters from Willow Brook throughout this story. I loved catching up with them. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

It’s a fun light hearted small town. It’s a fun light hearted small town romance. Cooper is a hotshot firefighter and Ferrah is a Vet Tech They meet when Cooper brings his cat to the Vet where Ferrah works. Their fates were sealed over a very unpleasant procedure and the discovery that they are also across the hall neighbors. Now if they could just their pasts behind they might just have a future together. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*

Outstanding Light My Fire romance!. Farrah moved to Willow Brook, Alaska when her mother moved there. Farrah is a vet tech at the Vet Hospital. Farrah grew up with an abusive stepfather and she vowed she would never let her emotions rule her. Farrah is just getting on better terms with her mother. Farrah was named after Farrah Fawcett. Cooper is a hotshot firefighter in Willow Brook. He moved to Willow Brook after he found out his ex-fiancée was cheating with his friend. Cindy’s excuse was that Cooper was not paying attention to her after his father died. Cooper vowed he would never fall in love or be in a relationship again. Cooper has a cat named Humpty and he took him to the vet. Cooper was immediately attracted to Farrah. Cooper got a call out to fight a fire in the wilderness. He didn’t have anyone to watch Humpty. Maisie the receptionist at the fire department said she would take Humpty but her cat didn’t like Humpty so she had Farrah watch him. When Cooper came back and found out that Farrah had Humpty he needed her number and her address. Farrah and Cooper live across the hall from each other in the apartment. Farrah and Cooper had outrageous chemistry and they decided they they would just be friends with benefits no strings attached. The more time that Cooper and Farrah spent together the more feelings started to develop. They tried to not notice their feelings until Cooper came back from a fire sick and nobody knew where he was and Farrah found him in bed sick. Farrah made Cooper come to her place so she could take care of him. The next day she realized that she loves Cooper and she doesn’t know what to do. Cooper meanwhile was recuperating and realized that he loves Farrah. Farrah came home for lunch and confessed her feelings to Cooper. Cooper confessed his feelings to Farrah. Will Cooper and Farrah be able to make a relationship work? Will Farrah tell Cooper about the abuse that she had endured? Will Cooper and Farrah find love and happiness in Willow Brook? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Loved this book!. Farrah has just moved to Fireweed Harbor. Cooper hasn’t been here long, he’s a hot shot firefighter and new cat owner. Farrah is a vet tech and that’s how they meet. J H Croix is the best at bringing two people together in such a natural way. Both of these characters have had struggles in the past, betrayals they can’t move past that has decided their futures. Farrah’s past has scarred her in many ways and JH Croix must have done a lot of research to nail how a child of abuse feels, like she did. This book really spoke to me. I loved the growth of both Farrah and Cooper and how they brought out the best in each other. It’s always great to read JH Croix books, it feels like coming home, like these people are from your hometown. Your neighbors, friends and family. The romance and steam factor will blow you away, if you can’t tell? I loved this book.

Take Me Now. This fantastic read is the eighth installment to the Light My Fire series. Cooper is a hotshot firefighter who moved from his small town because his ex fiancé cheated on him. He has become cynical and doesn't want a relationship. Farrah is a vet tech and works at the vet clinic. Her stepfather was abusive so she doesn't want a relationship. Farrah doesn't trust men to be their true selves so she keeps a part of herself closed off. Fantastic storyline, wonderful characters that you will love getting to know.

Friends with benefits. Now this book can be read as a standalone, but knowing this author why would you want to? This was a nice addition to the series. Farrah is a vet tech and Cooper takes his cat to be seen. His cat ends up back at Farrah’s place and there Cooper and Farrah find out they are neighbors. Not wanting a relationship they decide to see where it goes, but one thing leads to another…. What a great story and I especially loved the secondary characters with the firemen. This was a friends with benefits type of book that was interesting from start to finish. I received this ARC through the publisher and I am voluntarily reviewing this book, opinions are my own.

This story has it all!. This is book 8 in the Light My Fire series and it features Cooper and Farrah. After she lived through a violent stepfather situation, Farrah never wanted to be in a relationship. For Cooper, after his father died, the last thing he expected was to find out his fiancée was cheating on him with a friend of his. Two people who refused to trust again, find they are on a road they don’t want to be on, together. What is it they say, love heals all? Fantastic story as we journey through the healing of these two beautiful people that even Janet, at Firehouse Cafe, knows they belong together. This book had it all! There was the fun flirting, the no strings relationship, the ex-girlfriend popping up in town. This is a fun and sexy read! It’s great seeing characters from past stories pop up throughout this story. I’m definitely looking forward to more from Willow Brook, Alaska!

Wonderful. Like most second chances, it was wonderful.

Loved it. I LOVED this book!!! Farrah and cooper made a great couple. The hotshot fire man neighbor and Farrah who was ironically his neighbor had mutual friends ended up having a great story. The pull they had toward each other the connection with coopers grumpy cat gave the story some one line chuckles, the steam was great! I loved them together and loved the hea at the end. I loved the book and can’t wait to read more in the series

Enjoyable read. This is a hard book to do a in-depth review on without giving anything away except to say it has all the right ingredients that made it a real page turner. Strong plot with depth and character that drew me into the pages. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book via Bad Boys Update.

Cooper and Farrah. I enjoyed this fast paced steamy addition. Two people who have been through heartache and struggles in their past find each other but have their own internal struggles with having something more than just friends with benefits. Drawn to each other from their first meeting nothing was going to keep them apart. Throw in his ex coming to town to try and win him back and his own meddling mother trying to get them back together.

Loved it. This was a great addition to the series, and I found myself quickly invested in vet tech Farrah and firefighter Cooper’s story. This was a well written, entertaining story with characters who you cannot help but fall for. Neither was looking for love or a relationship, both having been burned in the past. However, the chemistry between them is impossible to ignore and what starts out as neighbour’s with benefits quickly morphs into so much more. Their journey was not smooth, but as they opened up to one another, they found a love like no another and that was heartwarming to witness.
