What Real Counts. I was always very curious about the Duggar family. Jill gives a different and fresh perspective about her life experiences. I could not put the book down. It was well written and she exposes her father and family secrets but in a compassionate manner and that really what counts. Good read!

Insightful, well-told story!. I watched every season of the show, and though strange in many ways, I admired the Duggars. Jill’s story is a heartfelt accounting of her family experience, which is one where she came to the realization that she was a business asset first and a daughter second. It’s a story of betrayal that captures the complexity of lies and psychological manipulation wielded by Jim Bob, denied by Michelle, and perpetuated by TLC. Clearly Jill has emerged stronger and wiser. While being truthful about the deception, she still manages to tell this story with the utmost kindness to her family. I hope Jill’s siblings can see the truth and take a stand as well.

Best book I’ve read in a long time!!!. Awesome book about truth, healing and the saving grace of our Lord and Savior. Very well written. God Bless Jill, Derrick, Israel, Samuel and Freddy. Bought the book yesterday and have devoured every word. Couldn’t put it down. Jill and Derrick if you ever read your reviews just know you have so many of us behind you 100%!!!!

Encouraging and Mind-Blowing. This book was an amazing telling of finding your true voice. I’m proud of Jill for her bravery in telling her personal life story.

Book is a venting session. She has the right to share her side and struggles but the book is more venting out for the world to know and just not sure how that is profitable or how this will help what needs to be healed within her family.

Beautifully Written and Inspiring. This book was very well written. Jill was able to share her story and her truth with so much respectfully and gracefully. I read it in two days because I couldn’t put it down.

Disappointed. Thought it would be more in depth… it seemed more about their love of Jesus. Whatever floats your boat but doesn’t make for an interesting read

Empowering. I grew up in a fundamentalist home and a mother and father with mental health issues that we just “keep to our family and family alone.”Our family was very similar to the Duggars so we loved watching the show! Now in my thirties, I as well have experienced healing and freedom over the years through self discovery, therapy, and the help of fellow believers. I’m proud of Jill for courageously venturing out to find the freedom she was created and destined for. Way to go!

Amazing story. What a great story this was. Growing up and watching the show for years, I felt like I had a sense of how life was for them. This story really put into perspective that all families have indifferences, yet we can all power through and sometimes put our Emotions aside. This was definitely a powerful story of their side. I appreciate Jill being transparent and explaining the hardships that her and Derick still continue to face with her parents. Would definitely recommend

Wanted you to get paid. I hope Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar repent for the sin of theft sometimes over the next few decades. I also hope they apologize and admit that their handling of what happened is why Josh was never removed from the home, the kids were never removed from the home as they should have been it was not a safe place. And repent for their misdeeds as the reason the documents relating to what their minor son did were not sealed. And repent of their pride telling people how to raise kids when that was all going on.

Beautiful courageous story. The courage it had to take to write this story, is huge. Jill was always my favorite on the show. This is a well written background of her struggles, triumphs and fears. Read it!

A raw and truthful look into what was actually happening behind closed doors. Jill gives true look of what was happening behind closed doors to the Duggar family, a must read if you were a fan of 19 kids and counting for sure.

Couldn’t Stop Reading. This was such a good read! Not a perfectly polished story or flawlessly edited writing, but intriguing storytelling from a victim who finally took back control of her narrative and felt brave enough to use her voice. This book is raw, honest, relatable and I highly recommend for anyone who has experienced high-control religion.

Amazing and heart wrenching. This book was raw, yet Jill still managed to protect her siblings and children who were innocent in everything. Her writing reminds me so much of my own older sister. She has a beautiful family, and an absolutely heart wrenching story, and told it so well!! She told her story with grace, and dignity, while still being so raw and real! Absolutely amazing.

Loved it!. I was surprised how much I did enjoy this book! She’s a strong woman for writing this book & I was so pleased to know she is living her own life- happily! I’d love to read more from her

Great read!. After watching the show it was great to read what life was really like for Jill. I found the book hard to put down and finished it quickly.

Engaging, easy read. Having watched the tv show and loosely followed the movements of the family over the years, this book was a great insight to what these people really experienced.

Healing. I can appreciate your rawness in this book. It’s always difficult to be real with your self and others but it is always worth it. I’ve had similar experiences. When it comes to the bible and what I was brought up to think wasn’t all correct, I learned for myself it’s important not to just take someone’s word for it but know for yourself. Great read, inspiring, and filled with hope.
