Manifiesto comunista by Karl Marx & Friedrich Engels Book Summary
Publicado por primera vez en forma anónima, en Londres, el 21 de febrero de 1848, este fue un texto escrito por encargo de la Liga de los Comunistas, una asociación creada poco antes, en junio de 1947, e integrada mayormente por exiliados alemanes, como el propio Karl Marx. Cuando redactó el Manifiesto, a dúo con Friedrich Engels, Marx ya había sido expulsado de Alemania y de Francia por sus ideas socialistas y su activismo. Durante su exilio en Londres escribirá casi toda su obra. Diferenciándose de los "socialistas utópicos", Marx y Engels se propusieron formular los principios de un "socialismo científico", partiendo de una crítica al orden capitalista que expuso las leyes de su funcionamiento; leyes que llevarían al sistema a su destrucción.
El Manifiesto fue reconocido más tarde como uno de los documentos políticos más influyentes del mundo. En 2013, la UNESCO registró el primer tomo de El capital junto con el Manifiesto comunista en el Programa Memoria del Mundo
