Love getting into an artists head. I love Blue Octobers music so raw so honest. I bought this book, knowing I'd get a glimpse into the the mind behind all the talent. I really like all the handwritten comments Justin adds to the songs he wrote. The only question I have with this book is why he didn't comment on why he added the article form john Lomax into the book. It's not a nice article of Justin or Blue October at all, where was his rebuttal or comment of the article?

Favorite Artisti, Favorite Band. A look into Justin's Head. Blue October has been in my life since I first found them in 2000 at age five. My favorite song, which is still my favorite song, by Blue October is Conversations Via Radio. Anyone who loves Blue October also knows Justin's history; his highs, his lows, his breakdowns, and his successes as a person and artist. The book "Crazy Making" gives us a first person view behind all of it. Working as a half-lyric book- half- autobiography, the book consists of almost every song in Blue October's catalog, including some songs that were never previously released to the public. The book implores readers to read the lyrics word for word, with each page including a hand-written footnote, sometimes a few sentences, sometimes a few paragraphs, about Justin's mindset when writing the song. Some songs were influenced by angst, some by drugs, and some by total rage and anger. For Fans of Blue October, this is an amazing read. Divided into albums, I suggest any reader goes album by album, listening and reading every lyric. It's an emotional, captivating, and amazing collection for the Blue October catalog. After putting the book down you'll realize Justin is quite possibly the most emotional lyricist of all time.

Crazy Making. I am a huge fan so it is no surprise I loved this book. Blue October is the only thing me and my 5 sisters agree on.

A must have!. Since I had the hard copy of the first edition of Crazy Making, I've been waiting for this Book for so long. I didn't got disappointed. It's more complete! It shows how the Band aka Justin Furstenfeld has evolved lyrically and musically from the Darkest to the Brightest during the years and the episodes of Life. Great pictures and Art! A must have when you love the Band , their music and when you want to take a look into the head of Justin Furstenfeld and how the songs/lyrics are created

You’ll understand the reason of the song.. There isn’t a Blue October song I could’t identify with. Every song has meaning and with this book you’ll understand why the song was written and the amazing talent behind this band. They have a great following and all us fans are best friends.

An Open Book. My wife and I have been huge fans of Justin and his band Blue October. We didn't realize how much goes into each song until we saw Justin at his Open Book Tour and listened to him read from his book, Crazy Making. Each chapter or song has an incredible heart wrenching story behind it. And Justin is an amazing story teller. He takes you into his heart. This book is about Justin's struggles through life, love for his daughter, and becoming the man he is today. He has included artwork, photos and handwritten notes. I highly recommend it.

Means everything to me. I have followed blue October since the beginning. I love and have memorized every song they have made. Each song has such a deep meaning that most people can relate to. This book takes you deeper than ever into the mind of blue October. I love the book and cannot set it down.

Behind the Words. Love love love being able to spend a little time in the mind of Justin Furstenfeld. The man is (in my opinion) a creative genius. These stories, little tidbits, bring even more meaning to the songs I already love.

Raw, Touching, Stirring. I love this book. It's raw, and beautifuly stirring. This book takes you through the journey of the band as well as Justin. Unexpectidly simple and beautiful.

Beyond Amazing. Blue October and Justin Furstenfeld never seize to amaze me. He is truly an inspiration. He puts words to emotions that many people feel, but never know how to explain. The band is extremely talented and very down-to-earth. They make sure to remind all of their fans that they are just people also and that we are not alone in our many struggles. They've helped many people out, including myself. :)

What a mind to look into....fascinating!. I'm a professional writer and a published poet. As such, I have perhaps a lofty standard for these types of collections. Even so; I was awed and fascinated by every page of this book. I found myself relating to Mr. Furstenfeld while at the same time being fascinated by the way his mind and his artwork comes together. Poet or not, long time fan or just discovering the magic of Blue October, I strongly suggest buying this book!

Therapeutic Delight. You will not find a more in dept lyricist. The feelings and emotions of real world experiences coming through in Justin’s words are incredible. You can see his fall to depression and rise up through the struggles to achieve happiness in life. Coming from a person who has been diagnosed with clinical depression, the songs in this book has helped me deal and realize I am not alone in my struggles. There is no amount of thanks I can give this guy for having a way of putting these feelings into words.

Crazy Making - INSIDE HIS HEAD......... What a wonderful idea to put Justin's thoughts behind his music out there for his fans and the world to view. I have been to so many concerts that I cannot count. Listening to their music on CD just isn't the same as seeing them live. When you go to a concert, you can actually feel the lyrics from the book resonate into your soul. I am in the process of getting tickets for the show at The Lucky Mule in Abilene, Texas now and I'm in the fancorps to help promote. I also have two copies of "Crazy Making". One is the second edition - hard bound black in color. While the other is an autographed copy by Justin inside the cover. I cherish them both and have read them both cover to cover and would definitely recommend this for ANY Blue October fan who has either seen them live and/or simply enjoys their music. GET OUT THERE TO A SHOW PEOPLE!!!!! YOU WON'T REGRET IT. IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. It definitely changed mine. The first time I saw them was at the Lakewood Theater in Dallas....Justin came out on crutches because he had blown out his knee and he was wearing a full 3 piece suit....ABSOLUTELY BLEW MY MIND and I jump at every opportunity to see them live.
