Die Darstellung dieser Zusammenhänge und die theoretische Herleitung der wichtigsten Eigenschaften dieser Zahlen ist in diesem Buch in einfacher und verständlicher Form gelungen.
So bieten die Ausführungen für jeden, der mit den Grundkenntissen der Schulmathematik vertraut ist, eine geeignete Einführung in die Theorie der Fibonacci- und Lucas-Zahlen.
In dieser Neuauflage ist ein Kapitel zur sogenannten abc-Vermutung hinzugekommen.
Je drei aufeinanderfolgende Fibonacci-Zahlen bilden ein abc-Tripel. Die Fibonacci-abc-Vermutung besagt, dass es kein Fibonacci-abc-Tripel gibt, dessen Radikal kleiner als die dritte Zahl c ist.
Die einzelnen Kapitel des Buches sind auch als Arbeitsgrundlage für Seminararbeiten in der Oberstufe des Gymnasiums (W-Seminar) geeignet.
Der Autor hat an der LMU München Mathematik und theoretische Physik studiert (Diplom Physik 1972, Staatsexamen M/Ph 1976) und war viele Jahre als Gymnasiallehrer für die Fächer Mathematik und Physik tätig.
