Comment lire by Ezra Pound Book Summary
Voici le manifeste pour la lecture d'Ezra Pound (1885-1972) sur la prose et la poésie. Il se préoccupe essentiellemen de deux points :
1/ Que les gens ne lisent pas n'importe quoi ;
2/ Et surtout qu'ils fasse la dictinction entre ce qui est important de ce qui l'est moins - ou ce qui ne l'est pas.
Dans cet apprentissage, Pound accorde une importance toute particulière aux auteurs français du XIXe siècle : Stendhal, Flaubert, les frères Goncourt, Maupassant pour la prose ; Gautier, Corbière, Laforgue, Rimbaud pour la poésie (les seconds ayant fait avancer la poésie en intégrant les progrès de la prose réalisés par les premiers).
Depuis longtemps introuvable, Comment lire est republié dans une traduction nouvelle, avec notice et notes, réalisée par Philippe Mikriammos, traducteur d'une partie des Cantos.
