What a ride! Great read!. Wow! This is the second book that I've read by this author and it grabbed me and held me through the whole thing in one sitting. Emelia's story is heartbreaking and what she has experienced in life, no one should have to go through. Alex looks to be a saint by taking her in, but he is really the devil. Can love change a person? Will Alex and Emelia get a chance to be together or will Alex's life keep them apart? This is part 1 of their story and there is a cliffhanger at the end. I can't wait to dive into book 2. This book was a web of lies and deception and took a new turn all of the time. I loved it! On to book 2!

Broken by Lies. I couldn't put this book down it had my heart pounding and me on the edge of my seat. The characters were so well developed and heartbreakingly honest. Fell in love with Emilia and Alex. Cliffhanger ending had me pre-ordering and I can't wait for Bound by Lies. Wonderful read!

TERRIBLE editing. I can't read this in locked portrait mode on my iPhone bec the text goes off the screen instead of wrapping -- shoddy job editing!!! Ugh.

What a ride!!!. This story will have you on the edge of your seat, up and down, and then it'll twist you all around. Then the ending will leave you hanging. I highly recommend this sexy, pull at your heart, what will happen next book. Be prepared to read it in one sitting.

Broken by Lies. This book is soooooo good. I read it in 2 days. I can't wait for the second book to come out. Anyone who reads this book will love it.

Fantastic!!. Broken By Lies is the first book that I have read by Rebecca Shea and it definitely will not be the last. This book immediately pulled me in and I couldn't stop reading. Emilia has had such a hard life but she didn't complain or let it get her down. But then there's only so much that any one person can take; her mother's death, rejection from her father and feeling utterly alone until she runs into Alex and her whole world shifts. Alex lives a life that he hates. One that he didn't choose. When he ran into Emilia he knew that he should leave her alone, but she was his redemption. His chance to do good instead of being the monster that he feels he is. Prepare for yourself for an emotional ride full of angst, drama, suspense, love and lies. This book has so many twists and turns. It ends in an OMG cliffhanger that will have you reeling! This was a five-star read for me.

Through the lies there is pain, grief, and love.. Emilia and Alex's story. It's a story about lies that serve to protect Emilia. It's every girls dream to meet someone who makes their heart race. It's a story most can relate to-being saved or saving someone else. Aren't we all looking for someone who has an affect on us? When we don't have that someone special we look for it in books. The story is moving along at a nice pace. It's a sympathetic read for both characters. You cannot help but feel sorry for both and root for both. I enjoy stories when a man needs a good woman, to want to be a better man. Some choices are made for you and expected of you and some choices you get to make yourself. People get trapped in a life they do not want and do not know how to change it. It's a wonderful feeling to accept a person for who they are. Way to end the story Rebecca. Leave me with a cliffhanger you naughty lady. It was exciting and thrilling towards the end and I hope that thrill continues.

What a story!!!. What a story!! The twists and turns will have you in knots and it's just beginning. Intriguing story line, solid characters, sexual chemistry, everything you need for a great read. Now off to find out what happens next.

Loved it. It was a mind blowing book. It has so much mystery and intrigue. This is the reason why I love it. I'll admit the mystery kind of maybe dragged on for me but it was such a great book that I can overlook that. The writing and the words more than make up for that!

So good. Absolutely loved this book. Rebecca Shea is one of my favourite authors and I was eager to read this new release. I definitely was not disappointed. Loved all the characters and the storyline, and kind of figured out how some of them were related after the dinner date, but still great plot twists. Can't wait for the next book, I've already pre-ordered it. 5 stars.

Your Lies Will Find You Out. Wow! This was quite the roller coaster! And what an ending! When I finished the book, I stared mournfully at the page, my hands seemingly surgically attached to the sides of my Kindle, heart pounding lost in a sea of bewilderment. How can it just end like that? I knew it wasn’t going to conclude – I was counting down the remaining percentage on my Kindle with an increasing sense of doom – we were going to be left hanging, twitching for the next instalment like a addict awaiting a fix. Rebecca Shea – you sure do make junkies of us all This is the story of Emilia, who’s grown up in abject poverty in a trailer with her feckless and depressive mother (her father having bailed seemingly seconds after conception!). After the loss of her mother, she goes looking for her father who pretty much slams the door in her face. My heart broke for Emilia at the beginning of this story. She cuts such a lonely figure – so desperate for love, so naive. She’s like the ultimate prey for some waiting predator to come along and snap her up. I felt so sorry for her – especially with the abrupt and heart-breaking dismissal from her biological father. Enter stage left – Alex. Never could a young girl have been more prime for falling into bad company than at the moment when he first sets eyes on Emilia. They’re like the lion and the lamb – he’s from a different and very dangerous world and, even though he thinks he’s protecting her, he’s putting her in deadly peril by taking her into his world. He should have just carried on driving by that fateful day and, instead, look where it has all ended! I was very absorbed straight away as I always am by a Rebecca Shea novel – her style is engaging and draws you in and I found myself lost in the story almost instantly. Emilia’s devastation at the beginning was a palpable thing and I rapidly got into her mindset. The alternating POV works very well here allowing us to hear from both of the main protagonists and you need to hear from Alex as he really did have me wondering what on earth he was up to for a large part of this novel. I did really enjoy this – it’s very suspenseful and atmospheric as it builds towards its pulsating conclusion but I did feel that the book could have been at least 100 pages longer. A lot happens and a lot of it too quickly for my liking, especially the last 25%. It’s shock after shock without time to absorb and reflect – we’re hurtled from one startling revelation into the next and I really wanted to slow down at this point and see how the characters were feeling and reacting but it wasn’t to be. Emilia and Alex fall in love a little too quickly – I would have liked to have seen a longer build up there too. Emilia was rather too trusting – she just accepts that this devastatingly good looking stranger hanging out at a seedy motel by night only has good intentions. She’s massively naive. So, in conclusion, a good and suspenseful romance but I needed it to be a little longer to get deeper character development and just to see more of their feelings and emotions but it’s a humdinger of a cliffy and I’ll definitely be back for more. 3.5 deceitful stars
