Rewarding. When you see a book has been written by Kevin Costner in collaboration with Rick Ross, you get to thinking it may not be the most intellectual piece out there. This assumption couldn't be more false; The Explorer's Guild is, in actuality, a complex, engaging read that will appeal to history majors and casual explorers alike. The authors have done society a service by injecting into it the spirit of exploration and adventure not seen since the days of Crusoe and Moby Dick.

The Explorers Guild. It has been many years since I last arrived at the last page of a book still so involved in the story that I was surprised--and a bit disappointed--that it had ended.

The Explorers Guild. Make sure you try it out first before buying! iPhone users beware. I have an iPhone 6s Plus, an iPad Mini and a iPad Gen 4, and although this book’s illustrations are beautiful, it is almost physically impossible to read the text on a small screen. You will have to squint to read it. Why? This book does not let you change the font size, which is normal for all the books I’ve downloaded from the store. Yes, the illustrations are gorgeous and the prose is fun to read, but not being able to get the font size bigger, and having to use constant zooms and scrolls to read a single page is a bit much. I’m on page 318 of the 700+ and am enjoying the book, but not the experience, if you get my drift. I would not have purchased the book had I known in advance that even my kids, who are voracious readers, would give up trying to read it after about 30 minutes. They did look at the fantastic illustrations on the normal sized iPad though. On my 27” and 32” monitors, I can read it just fine, but those screens are not portable. 5 stars for the book’s premise and style, but 1 star for execution on a small screen. Since actually reading a book is important, I’ll give it an overall 2. If this e-book is eventually upgraded with the ability to change the font size, it will earn a 5 from me,

The Explorers Guild. I bought this book when it came out. I contacted Apple and later the publisher because the type is SO SMALL and UNADJUSTABLE that I have never fully read the book. Illustrations, yes. Book, not much. I keep hoping that an UPDATE WILL FIX THIS ( make type readable) , but I'm not holding out hope. So, after quite a while, I am -- for the type -- giving this one star. It was a lot to pay for a book too small to read! Shame on the authors!

Incredible. Complex story, complex dialogue, memorable characters. I haven't read many illustrated books and wasn't sure I would enjoy this but I did immensely. So much that after reading it I bought two copies, one for myself and a gift. Love a book that lists their credits last. You really have to love a book to read and appreciate them and JB did a wonderful job. Very glad this was titled Volume 1, can't wait for Volume 2.
