Unbelievably funny. I have read a book that made me laugh as much as this one did. However, the best part of this book lies in the last few paragraphs of the conclusion.

Good, but rushed. If you listen to the podcast, you've heard these stories before. But there are so many typos and small mistakes that it started to get distracting. I think this book was rushed to capitalize on the success of his last book. My advice: get the audiobook.

Pefect book. This is a great book on many levels. It is amazingly entertaining and is a great example of how to overcome your genes. THIS IS A MUST READ!!!!!!

Good Read. Great collection of stories from Adam. As a faithful listener to the podcast I've probably heard most of the stories hear, but to me they are always great to hear and some new ones thrown in make it even better.

Good Stuff. I bought the audio book but had to get the book so I could see the pictures....wish there were more photos. Great read and excellent audio to pass the time at work. Hope you "write" another book, you are the best. Thanks for your podcast.

Not Taco Bell Material. Funny, truthful, nice to know you are not alone with dysfunctional family. Am also a contractor, a company owner. As a group we are always seen as losers. Maybe all you nerds out there will get another view of us.

Funny but missing pages. This book is very funny. It reads much like David Sedaris but with Adam's voice. Has one terrible fatal flaw though, some of the chapters are missing the last page or two. Very poor e-book transfer, would be better to wait for paperback.

great read. I laughed the hardest towards the end of the book - but overall it was a great read and one of his better books. too had that audio book didn't hit the snowman....

Great book!. I really enjoyed how Adam was able to tie in two of his passions comedy and home building into a storyline of his life. I can relate to many of the stories expressed. My family and mainly my father was distant when to came to active involvement in my youth,not to mention I lived with the guy. Luckily as you brought forth in your conclusion that people have the ability to change. My father and I have amended our relationship and we do more now then we did most of my childhood. Mahlo! Ace Man!

Just what I needed.. This book comes at a time when I need to find motivation to fix things in my life. While I can't promise that I'll fix them, I can tell you that this book made me want to. It was funny, thoughtful, and inspiring. My life is better for having read it.

Let's get it on!. I could not put this book down! I read it all on my day off from work today! I can't wait to give this to my dad for a fathers day gift!

Stories great, download not so much. Does anyone have an issue with pages missing because there are duplicate pages in it's place? On several chapters the last page of the chapter is missing, and in it's place is the duplicate of the same page before the last page

I liked it…. but didn't. If there is one criticism I have for this book is that it didn't know what it wanted to be when it got done. Collection of stories? Autobiography? Inspirational story? All of the above? The pages are filled will hilarious stories from Adams life. Honestly, its amazing he isn't dead from either drinking, drugs or the stupid stuff he and his band of idiot friends did. Its clear that Adam had that 'something' that made him different. Different from his family, his friends and his level of education. That quality that drives someone to do more and achieve more. That comes through loud and clear. What confused me is that one moment we are talking (and this book is conversational) about Adams chaotic life and his work in go-nowhere construction jobs and the next moment he's doing improv and working in radio. The part where he made that transition seems crucial to me and was overstepped like a black out period. Odd. The end of the book is where he locks up the brakes and takes a hard corner. He tries to sum of the stories in the book as some kind of inspirational book that can encourage others to work hard and have goals. I see that, but I wouldn't look at the preceding 300+ pages as a collection of inspiration. To me, the book was an entertaining look into Adam's life that helped flesh out some of the stories he's shared on his radio show..,in addition to quite a few stories about poop.

Hmm, I downloaded this after reading the reviews, not realizing they were all guy reviews, oh well, it was a great read, I enjoyed some very funny manly insights, and I just plain liked this guys stories, and,,, he is dead on when he rags on workers that are getting their paychecks from our taxes!!! Funny book, entertaining life stories, goes to show you, the most messed up families make for the Best life stories!

Funniest thing I have ever read. There were many parts that I was laughing out loud. I am in shock at some of the things that Adam has done in his life. These people really exist? Growing up in LA myself, and listening to Adam since the mid 90's in hogh school, really brought me back to a time when it was ok to take a dump on your friends. Thanks Adam!

NEW FAN= Awesome /Fan over 2 yrs.=OK. Heard 90% of stories before but it was nice to get it uninterrupted. LOve Adam.. He needs another outlet for creativity the books are nice but not enough to capitalize on all his thoughts and funny scenarios he creates.. YOU! ADAM! Make another movie do your own tv show >YOU are always talking about how it is easier these days to D.I.Y ( do it yourself) SO do it!! SO creative with the humor.. a podcast and book of old memories are not enough for you.. you are bigger than that. BUY IT

Ace at his best. Great look into what makes Adam, Adam. Explores his life via the house ( or shack) he lived in at the time. Funny, good read.

He should have been reconsidered. Adam writes this book very matter of factly. You can tell he writes the way he talks and therefore the paragraphs seem more like conversations. What is poignant about this book is the continual referral to himself as a looser in his earlier life. In fact, he is the opposite. He doesn't blame others for circumstances, he just accepts it, moves on, and doesn't quit. That is not the definition of a loser. The book has several hilarious stories and only a couple of celebrity name dropping. OK, more than several. I would recommend this book over most other celebrity tomes because I am hoping he will read this review and offer me a job on the Man Show. What? It's off the air? Ok, I still recommend it.

Funny and a little disgusting. Lots of insight into Adams life through all the places he's lived. Its funny but I prefer Adams first book. This one has a little too much potty humor for my taste but Man Show fans will love it.

Where's the audiobook Aceman?. You let mike do your dirty work writing! Well I need u to do the dirty work and read it to me! Ok so I'm a little dyslexic!

Whines too much about minor stuff.. Some of the things he complains about are really petty, the book has some funny parts and way too many sick stories about his friends. I also had one page that was repeated three times and another twice, it seemed some pages were missing. Adam Carolla has his moments but he's no P.J. O'Rourke.

Hilarious from start to finish!. I have to admit, I have been indifferent about Adam until seeing him on Celebrity Apprentice. I jumped on the book sample and laughed so much I had to purchase. I laughed until I cried throughout it. Every page I was laughing aloud about something. I was very sad when I finished reading it. It provided me with so much joy while reading. Fabulous book! I admire him and can't wait for the next one!

Awesome!!. I never really LOVED Adam before this book. It's funny, at times hysterical, heart-wrenching and believable. Ace did a FANTASTIC job. Even if he did get his wife to write it for him. ;)

One of the funniest books I have read. I have only seen Adam on The Man Show and I enjoyed him. I bought the book after reading the sample and lost a few nights of sleep because I did not want to stop reading it. He seemed to have the same type of friends I had growing up so it brought back lots of great memories. I laughed out loud at times. I am going to download his other books so I can keep his kids in private school. Thanks for the laughs and nice words of encouragement.

Thoroughly Enjoyable Read. If you enjoyed Carolla's first book, In 50 Years, We'll All Be Chicks, then you'll love this one. If you didn't like that book, then this One might turn you around. It's quite literally a rags to riches story, with amusing and hilarious anecdotes, and a stealthy emotional, inspirational punch.

Funniest book money can buy. Really enjoyed this book. I also but the audiobook. Really funny guy who sure as hell isn't stupid. If your looking for a good laugh in a book, Mr Carolla will give you what you want.
