Chasing Sunsets. Chasing Sunsets is book #2 in the Angels Walking series. Haven't read Angels Walking? Don't worry! You will be able to follow the story here without any problems. However, I highly recommend reading Angels Walking to have the background stories behind the main characters. If you read Angels Walking then you've been introduced to Mary Catherine, Marcus, Sami and Tyler. Chasing Sunsets is Mary Catherine's and Marcus' story. Mary Catherine grew up in a comfortable home and wanted for nothing. Though she loves her wealthy parents, their lifestyle never appealed to her. Instead, Mary Catherine pursues meaning through charity work, giving away a part of herself but never giving away her heart. Mary Catherine lives in Los Angeles with her roommate, Sami, and volunteers at a local youth center with Tyler Ames and LA Dodger Marcus Dillinger. Despite Mary Catherine's intention to stay single, she finds herself drawing close to Marcus, and their budding romance offers an exciting life she never dreamed of. That is, until she receives devastating news from her doctor. News that alters her future and forces her to make a rash decision. Chasing Sunsets opens with an angels meeting in Heaven. This image is what has stayed with me from the first book in the series. I absolutely love the image of God's helpers joining together to watch over and help us! This time they are together to protect and guide Mary Catherine and Marcus. As with all other Kingsbury books you should consider reading Chasing Sunsets in the privacy of your home ... unless you don't mind sobbing in front of strangers! As always, Karen grabs me emotionally and doesn't let go until I've read the last page. What I take away from Chasing Sunsets is this ... bad things happen, but evil doesn't come from God. We will never understand the heartache of this world. We have to remember to call upon Jesus, he will be there for us. The enemy will win some battles, but not the war. Hearing the angel, Jag say "In Jesus name" gave me chills every time. What will happen with Mary Catherine and Marcus? Book 3 will hopefully hold the answers as Karen leaves us with a bit of a cliffhanger! Chasing Sunsets is another Kingsbury hit! I highly recommend it. Chasing Sunsets. Well, first off the Angels Walking Series has opened my eyes to yet another perception of Angels and Heaven altogether. As it is with all book by Karen Kingsbury, that I have read until today, they all strike a cord in my soul. I resonate deeply with this story. I find myself in all the characters, which leads me to a deeper understanding of humanity at large and individually. We all struggle, every struggle is valid, but every struggle can lead to victory, if we allow God Center Stage in our lives. If we continue to trust, that God's will for our lives is bigger than all we could possibly imagine. His plans are still to prosper, even is the most dire circumstances. The way Mary Catherine is drawn to Marcus Dillinger, feels the way that I have felt drawn to the man, I met 20+ years ago, and who's arms I felt so at home - that I never ever wanted to leave that embrace. This is the forever kind of love, that we all long for, the love of two twin hearts meeting. Sometimes life events separate you, but I believe that you will meet again, to spend eternity together. Such love is the biggest gift, Heaven can give. It's like meeting Jesus face to face - two souls surrendered to the Lordship of Christ - forever!!! Simply beautiful. ❤️ Angels are real and work and fight for us - I believe that. They protect us and they guide us. I honestly can't wait to learn more about them - asking God, to reveal more truth about Angel Waking missions to me - giving me the wisdom to understand more about the Angels in the spiritual realm. I thoroughly enjoyed Chasing Sunsets, and I cannot wait to read the 3rd book in the series. I can only recommend all of Karen's books to all readers. Through every single one of her books, that I read over the course of the last 12 years, my heart found healing..... - and I started to believe in the small voice inside of me, that God was truly there for me, guiding me back into a deeper relationship with him. Forever grateful for the amazing work, that God is doing through Karen's willing heart. She listens intently to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and allows her pen to be moved by it, thus creating stories, that touch the hearts of her readers to the core and bring healing and redemption. Thank you, Karen - another masterpiece written!!! God bless you!!!
