I tried. I really wanted to like the book but the female lead just irritated me too much to finish
Entirely unlikeable characters. Candy - whiny and simpering Neil - misogynistic and overbearing The characters were well developed, but developed in such a way that they were unbearable. The plot line was cute, but ruined by the characters. A strong man is great, but not one who thinks he owns “his” woman and has the right to tell her whether she can have a career, and any female character who says she “belongs” to a man and equates control with love is equally repugnant.

A good read with easy to love characters .. The storm is the perfect backdrop as there’s been so many these past few years. Enjoy your time reading it as much as I did! I savored it, reading it slowly and relished it.
