I bought her first solo album and many more as she emerged from the Mad Dogs & Englishmen tour (Joe Cocker) to become one of the great backing singers in the business on her way to becoming a great soloist. In this book she takes you on a lifelong trip of her triumphs, tragedies, loves and losses with just the right amount of detail, humility, grace and grit! Amazing to see how her early life in rock music weaves in and out of the lives of great musicians through her work and friendships and relationships. Graham Nash, Bob Dylon, Willie Nelson, one time husband Kris Kristofferson to name a few. Whether you lived through this period as a local musician as I did, you are a fan of the greatest rock music period of the 60's and 70's or you just enjoy reading about music history and the great talents that have graced the world stages, you will find Rita Coolidge's story compelling, nostalgic, warm and emotional. I met her at a Christmas concert in Cedarburg WI after her show more than decade ago and asked for a signed photo. She promised to send one to me...and did! Classy lady from start to finish.
