Hind Swaraj by Mahatma Gandhi Book Summary
મહાત્મા ગાંધીજીએ ‘હિંદ સ્વરાજ’મૂળ પુસ્તક ગુજરાતીમાં લખેલું અને અંગ્રેજી આવૃત્તિ એ ગુજરાતીમાંથી કરેલો અનુવાદ છે.
આ પુસ્તક સૌ પ્રથમ દક્ષિણ આફ્રિકામાં નીકળતા સાપ્તાહિક ‘ઇન્ડિયન ઓપિનિયન’માં પ્રસિદ્ધ થયું હતું. ઈ.સ. ૧૯૦૮માં લંડનથી દક્ષિણ આફ્રિકા પાછા ફરતાં આગબોટ પર, હિન્દીઓના હિંસાવાદી સંપ્રદાયને અને દક્ષિણ આફ્રિકામાંના તેને મળતા વિચાર ધરાવનાર વર્ગને જવાબરૂપે, આ પુસ્તક પૂ. બાપુ દ્વારા લખવામાં આવ્યું હતું.
વાચક આ પુસ્તક વાંચીને પૂ. બાપુના ‘સત્યાગ્રહ, સ્વરાજ’વિશેના વિચારોને સહજ રીતે સમજી શકે છે.
પૂ. બાપુના મતે ‘સ્વરાજ’ એટલે - ‘સ્વરાજ તે આપણા મનનું રાજ્ય છે. તેની ચાવી સત્યાગ્રહ, આત્મબળ કે દયાબળ છે.’
‘ખરો સુધારો શું? સત્યાગ્રહ-આત્મબળ, કેળવણી, સંચાકામ’વગેરે વિષયો પર ચિંતન-મનન કરતાં પૂ. બાપુના વિચારો આજેય અંતર્મનને સત્યનો માર્ગ ચીંધી જાય છે.
