La donna è infatti l’artefice della creazione del primo robot, membro della categoria nemica giurata dei maghi che, tempo addietro, dopo aver subìto un terribile massacro per mano di un esercito di “meccanuomini”, hanno scatenato la secolare rivalità tra le due fazioni. Nel frattempo, però, dal lontano futuro sopraggiunge un robot in cerca di Ada. È Kaku, il bibliotecario, venuto a proteggere la ragazza che, secondo l’antico libro sacro dei maghi, è la prescelta, colei che preverrà la distruzione futura della Terra. In un universo dominato da magia e tecnologia, Ada, Geller e Kaku, condividono il difficile compito di contrastare l’azione devastante di una terribile forza aliena: il Germe. Riusciranno i tre eletti a realizzare la riconciliazione tra maghi e robot e a fare comprendere loro chi è il vero nemico da distruggere?
