Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi Book Summary

The thrilling second installment in New York Times bestselling author Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me series.

It should have taken Juliette a single touch to kill Warner. But his mysterious immunity to her deadly power has left her shaken, wondering why her ultimate defense mechanism failed against the person she most needs protection from.

She and Adam were able to escape Warner’s clutches and join up with a group of rebels, many of whom have powers of their own. Juliette will finally be able to actively fight against The Reestablishment and try to fix her broken world. And perhaps these new allies can help her shed light on the secret behind Adam’s—and Warner’s—immunity to her killer skin.

Juliette’s world is packed with high-stakes action and tantalizing romance, perfect for fans of the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard and the Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken.

Ransom Riggs, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, raved: "A thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love, the Shatter Me series is a must-read for fans of dystopian young-adult literature—or any literature!"

This bestselling series from powerhouse author Tahereh Mafi showcases relentlessly thrilling action, heart stopping romance, and a war-torn world in which rebellion is the only path to freedom.

gets better the more you read. it was kinda boring but once warmer was back it was good LOL

What Happened?. I absolutely loved Shatter Me, and Destroy Me was great as well! I was really excited about this book, and the first fourteen chapters that were posted online were great! But, once I bought the book and started really reading it, I was extremely disappointed. I'm hoping that the third book is better, because, I'm sorry to say it, but Unravel Me was a big disappointment. :(

Unravel me. This book was well written and really was that bridge to make Juliette develops into a brave and confident girl.

I absolutely can't wait for the third book.. At first I'd like to mention, I'm not really a fan of how the book is basically set at Omega Point. I absolutely love Aaron and honestly I want Juliette to chose him :) the second half of this book was like constant electricity and I was finding myself unable to contain some of my excitement. It was absolutely amazing. It's just a little slow at the beginning. I hope Warner is in the next book more often!!!!

Love it. I like this more then the first one because she is way less fragile she dose not cry as much and there is way more then just her sipping over Adam

Really good. This series gets better as the series goes on.

AHH. JULIETTE ND AARON WERE AMAZINF BUT THE ADAM THING OMG I DIED

Just an amazing story.. It was excellent

Exceptional Author & Book. The story was addicting, the text intoxicating, it was more then brilliant it was something worthy of greatness. At laughter was exasperated within me, at times angry, and experience that was different yet something I have expected from many different. The first was the hook, this book is the line that reeled me in. I expect to read more of her work in the future, and come back for more!

Jaw dropping. I have no other words to describe this than amazing. Each chapter left me eager to read the next, making it impossible to stop. I love how the author writes and none of the books so far have seized to amaze me. I would definitely recommend this book!

I LOVE THIS BOOK AND IM INSANE. UMMMM HELLO I FREAKING LOVE THIS BOOK ITS LIKE TWO AM IN THE MORING THIS IS THE SECOND BOOK IVE READ IN 24HOURS I THINK IM GOING INSANE BUT IM VERY HAPPY DOING IT SO IM OKAY

Absolutely... Brilliant. This series is amazing! The first book was breath-taking. Normally the second books aren't as good as the first... But this is not the case. The second book still left me with plenty of surprising and 'Ah' moments. The way she describes the scenes makes you visualize them perfectly! Can't wait for the next!

Really good. If enjoyed the first book, you’ll enjoy this one as well.

LOVE. i love love LOVE this series. must read for the science fiction but also the HEAT

Incredible. Excellent book that I would recomend to anyone. The writing style is amazing and the author is constantly breaking off into prose... I adore this series. Quick read for me since it was YA, but I couldn't put it down. Some passages honestly brought me to tears. Engaging and well written. Fabulous book.

Great book overall. :)

A lot to say. *SPOILER ALERT* Personally I love this series, but this is my least favorite out of all the books. The beginning is quite boring and uneventful. With the exception of a few small details and plot points it's very uninteresting. Once you get to know Omega Point and its goals things pick up. I've never been a fan of Adam, in this book he takes being an unlikable character to a whole new level. He refuses to believe that he has a power and that it wasn't fate that he was immune to Juliette's touch. Once he finally accepts it, he won't train with Juliette. Off the top of my head I can think of at least 4 huge dramatic freak outs Adam has. After the first 2 they got quite predictable and unimportant. Most of the time the plot was put on hold so he could shed some man tears. Kenji although becomes a important character. At the end of the first book when Kenji is thrown into the mix and brings them to Omega Point I thought he was a random character thrown in to get the plot moving. In the second book he becomes more important and more of a main character. He helps Juliette with her newfound power, is helpful with his invisibility, and is comic relief in this dramatic story. James on the other hand was more of an afterthought in this book. He had very few scenes. When he did have scenes they where not important. Juliette is to emotional in this book for my liking. Everything's an event. Nothing can simply be done without her making it a big deal. Once Warner is put back into the mix she is less emotional. I enjoyed parts when she was talking to Warner in his room at Omega Point. It's interesting to see her opinion on her once enemy. She starts to become friends with him. It's quite a long process but interesting. But she keeps going between believing him to thinking he is lying to her. It is hard for her to grasp the fact that he isn't actually a bad guy, that he has reasons for all of the things he did. It is often frustrating when she begins to get close to him then let's her fear take over again. Speaking of Warner, it is so nice to have a look at his point of view. Getting to know the once horrible characters back story is very entertaining. Especially when it comes to his father. Learning that he isn't who he was for no reason was good information. He grew on me. The whole book was somewhat boring. I enjoyed it but definitely not as much as the first or last. When it came to parts with Adam I often wanted to stop reading because of the way he acted. I also am not sure about Juliette's descriptions. I was often confused on what she was trying to express. An odd metaphor was often used, where if she had just expressed the emotion the audience would have probably felt it more. A lot of things in this book where left unsaid. Off the top of my head I can think of any exact examples but questions whee often left unanswered. All in all I loved this book because it really sets the scene for what happens in Ignite Me. Tahereh Mafi I applaud you.

So much better than the first. I’m looking forward to the next one.

OMG. I fell in love with this book, it’s so addicting. I couldn’t put it down, I hated reading through all of the struggles with Juliette and Adam. Broke my heart really, but I loved it and I can’t wait to finish the whole series and then get the new book when it comes out this year.💖💕

It’s okay.. I’m not sure how to really rate or review this book. The first one got better as the book went on and I bought this one hoping it would be better as well but I feel like she just backtracked on her writing abilities. Part of me feels like it’s a great book with a good plot and the other part feels as if it’s horribly rushed. 90% of the book is just her explaining the simplest things in the most complicated and confusing way possible. It’s definitely not an easy read.

!!!. Goodness, um how do I start... Um THIS BOOK WAS REALLY GOOD!!! It is probally one of the most well written books in the entire series. The detail and the many turning points is what made it so good, I finished this book in one day because it was so good. While it is a long book it will be a breeze if you read regularly. I read this book in one sitting and it was just mind blowing I loved it

Disappointing. I was hopeful that Shatter Me’s potential would be fulfilled in Unravel Me, alas... 1) Plot: Really repetitive. Juliette kept valuable secrets from Omega Point to create pointless drama that did nothing for the plot. 2) Characters: Juliette became insufferable, Adam became utterly dislikable, and Warner was a mess. Kenji is the MVP. 3) Romance: Juliette and Adam’s feud was pretty dumb, but her relationship with Warner was worse. Warner suddenly does a 180 because he “loves” Juliette after stalking her and invading her privacy. All his despicable actions that made him a somewhat compelling villain were brushed aside by blaming it all on his evil father, and because he has dimples when he smiles. If there’s one reason to continue, I’d be doing it for Kenji. If you’re a sucker for romance, this might be the book for you, but if you’re looking for meaningful relationships and compelling plot, turn back now.

Unravel Me. I loved this book! It was intense and tender, raw yet riveting. You saw new sides to all the characters. Most were the opposite of what they were in "Shatter Me". The growth of the characters was a testament of Tahereh Mafi and her ability to keep you plugged in, and salivating for more. I can't wait to see what happens in the third book of the trilogy. This is a great climax for the three books. All I can say is Julliette's evolution will be epic! Congratulations Tahereh! I am ready for what is next!

Best series!!!!. I love this book, and heard Shatter me, the first book, might be made into a movie and that theres a third book in 2014. Its untitled nd i have a suggestion for the title. IGNITE ME.

Literally amazing. I haven’t been this captivated by a series in a very long time. This book is excellent.

.. can't wait. tomorrow!

review. so so good!! onto the next one!

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. Unravel me was just as good as shatter me. i dont think i can chose my favorite. the action in this one was really good and there were really good twists in the story. it was really great and it didnt let me down. i ❤adam and kengi!!

Review. Wow, okay I didn't think that I would like this series but I do!! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book but I have to admit I was very frustrated with Juliette most of the book. BUT it was still a good read!

Annoying. Juliette's character by herself is extremely annoying. I read Shatter Me and it seemed she just dwelled on how miserable she was and never rose the occasion. She just had her boyfriend care for her and do everything, it was rare she stood up for herself. I was dissapointed, the story had such a great concept. I would not read this book.

Loved it!!. Such an amazing book! Her writing style is beyond unique and amazing. Her descriptions of things blow you away and make you think of things in a whole new way. TEAM WARNER

Amazing!. This sequel to the book shatter me is the most breath-taking book I've ever read. All the emotion, the unexpected events, and the exquisite characters baffle me. I want to reads these books all over again. I read this to my boyfriend who isn't a reader at all and he never wanted me to stop reading to him. Mafi is an amazing writer and I hope that there are more books written by her in the future!

I wish I would've have loved this book.. Review originally posted on Reading Books Like a Boss I wish I would've have loved this book. But honestly, it left much to be desired. I found much of the plot and character lacked development and a cohesive continuation from the first book. The romance between Juliette and Warner felt forced, and the method by which the author manufactured Juliette's attraction to Warner (by severely weakening Adam's character in the process) was lazy. The first half of this book was so incredibly slow. The author made me detest Adam and Juliette as characters. I kept waiting for things to turn around, but really the only good thing about the first half was Kenji. The latter part of this book was marginally more gripping for me due to Warner's presence (he was someone to distract me from Adam and Juliette). What was so great about Shatter Me was the interesting premise and three distinct interesting characters. Warner was a great villain with many facets and an alluring mystery surrounding him. Adam was wholeheartedly good and strong character both in emotional and physical strength. Despite being psychologically tested and isolated for nearly a year, Juliette was resilient and defiant. However, in Unravel Me there was absolutely no character growth for Adam or Juliette. Honestly, they were weak, whiney, and, irritating. These three characters were absolutely ruined in this book and that made me so sad! Love triangles themselves do not bother me in the least. I don't hate on them for their existence. But like I said earlier, to me the author did nothing to build Warner as a love interest. She just made him this mysterious man and then made the reader strongly dislike Adam. By ruining Adam's character, it was all too convenient for Warner to pop in and steal Juliette's heart. My favorite thing about Unravel Me was Kenji. Not only he the most consistent character in the series so far, he's also the glue that holds everyone together. He's Adam's best friend, he's like a brother to James, and he has an unwavering faith in Juliette's power. He brought so much to the story—humor, stability, and a cohesiveness. I am worried about his mortality in book three, however. It seems like the good die young in books. Please don't kill Kenji. I will self-combust with grief and despair (dramatic? probably). I may read book three, but I'm a little scared to just because of my opinion of this book. I fear that the focus will be too much on the Juliette's choice of guy rather than the impending war. 2 stars

Amazzzzziiinnnnggg. I've already read the first few chapters and it is beyond thrilling. I am obsessed!
