I emphasize with her struggle but this isn’t a well written book.. Stay clear, Jennifer Ashton has managed to take a universal dread that many people deal with and turned it into a tale plagued of her own braggadocio.
Don’t waste your time or money. I bought this book because the sample initially really touched me and I could feel her pain as someone who has experienced loss of a loved one by suicide but honestly once she gets past the description of that tragic day, it all just sounds like constant bragging, name dropping of her wealthy and important friends/people she knows and her whole story is simply not relatable. She lives a privileged life with a crazy amount of privileged friends and acquaintances. She had an abundance of help and resources to make a tragedy like suicide be as easy as it could be. I’m not taking away from her pain, I have no doubt it was extremely difficult to lose her ex-husband that way but she could’ve used this to be more inspiring and helpful, not rub all that she has in the readers face. People like me who have been experienced loss caused by suicide would probably be lucky to say they had even 1/4 of the help/resources she had. I found none of what she had to say helpful or realistic for a majority of people and I kept reading to give it a chance but I just became increasingly annoyed. I won’t be finishing or reading another page.
