Heartwarming Read. The Rancher Takes a Family is book number one in the Montana McGregor Brothers series by Paula Altenburg. This is Jake McGregor and Lacey Anderson’s story. Jake finds himself the guardian of his sister’s three children. Lacey who Jake used to date is the children’s school teacher. This is a heartwarming and second chance romance.

The Rancher takes a Family. Loss of parents and taking on little ones after family tragedy- lots of emotions and dealing with lose as love blossoms.

A wonderful second chance of a happily ever after. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it. What a great story of a second chance romance. The female protagonist (Lacey) was very spoilt and not mature enough for the life-time love with the male protagonist (Jake). Jake was trying to make for a romantic evening the night of his prom but it back fired on him. No more details sorry! Over a decade later and a lot of growing up. These two get their second chance. It was a gripping story that was hard to put down. I loved the dual POV that the book was written in. It helped me, the reader, to understand the thoughts and the actions both past and present that these two people go through. The reason for their actions in the past that lead to the break-up. The children (Mac, Finn and Lydia) were a joy to read about. Their struggle to cope with the loss of their parents and grandparents and coming to live with their uncles made for a great back drop to this story. I highly recommend this story to anyone. It is a wonderful story about second chances that will leave you reading late into the night not wanting to stop reading. The Epilogue was a wonderful addition to the beautiful story. I so look forward to reading about the other brothers in this family!

Great read. Very good but sad and tragic. When 3 children become orphans and their uncle becomes their guardian life changes for everyone. Great love story full of grief and love.

The Rancher Takes a Family. A tragic accident takes the life of their sister and her husband as well as the lives of their mother and father. Three children are left without parents with only their uncles to raise them. This story shows how long lost love is still there and the challenges they face.

Disappointed. The characters lacked emotional depth. other than uncle Jack, Luke and Zack having a sweet relationship with the kids the book was a flop. On and on it went but there were so many lose ends.
