Tweet Cute by Emma Lord Book Summary

"A witty rom-com reinvention … with deeply relatable insights on family pressure and growing up.” - Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka, authors of Always Never Yours and If I’m Being Honest

“An adorable debut that updates a classic romantic trope with a buzzy twist." - Jenn Bennett, author of Alex, Approximately and Serious Moonlight

A fresh, irresistible rom-com from debut author Emma Lord about the chances we take, the paths life can lead us on, and how love can be found in the opposite place you expected.

One of Forbes Best YA of 2020

Meet Pepper, swim team captain, chronic overachiever, and all-around perfectionist. Her family may be falling apart, but their massive fast-food chain is booming — mainly thanks to Pepper, who is barely managing to juggle real life while secretly running Big League Burger’s massive Twitter account.

Enter Jack, class clown and constant thorn in Pepper’s side. When he isn’t trying to duck out of his obscenely popular twin’s shadow, he’s busy working in his family’s deli. His relationship with the business that holds his future might be love/hate, but when Big League Burger steals his grandma’s iconic grilled cheese recipe, he’ll do whatever it takes to take them down, one tweet at a time.

All’s fair in love and cheese — that is, until Pepper and Jack’s spat turns into a viral Twitter war. Little do they know, while they’re publicly duking it out with snarky memes and retweet battles, they’re also falling for each other in real life — on an anonymous chat app Jack built.

As their relationship deepens and their online shenanigans escalate — people on the internet are shipping them?? — their battle gets more and more personal, until even these two rivals can’t ignore they were destined for the most unexpected, awkward, all-the-feels romance that neither of them expected.

Save your money. I don’t know who is writing these reviews, but this book is crap. The author goes overboard with insignificant detail that makes the story’s momentum entirely too slow. The lack of gratitude both kids show their parents is annoying. They’re all getting a good education and they each have their health. I’m tired of reading about teenagers whining about their fake problems. The male protagonist goes on and on about how his twin brother is more popular than him and how lame he thinks everyone is. Gets old really fast. The whole story line is dumb, and I couldn’t even finish it. Thankfully I bought a hard copy and I was able to return it.

okay but the shipping part comes way later then i thought. i loved the characters. pretty good book but the preview threw me off.

Adorable!. his book was so cute & witty! I was sucked in from page 1. Pepper, our heroine, is Twitter witty and striving to be top student at school. Jack, our hero, is goofy and a twin. These two do NOT get along usually. Jack loves teasing and provoking Pepper whenever the opportunity arises! Once Pepper’s mothers burger business tweets about a new grilled cheese, all tweet hell breaks loose! Jack is upset the burger chain copied his grandmothers grilled cheese recipe, so he begins the tweet war between his families deli & the burger chain. Pepper & Jack start to become more of friends in person before they discover each one is part of this tweet war! They decided to keep tweets and friendship separate. Watching these two banter & grow into friends to a cute HEA was fantastic! There’s was also a side where the two were taking to secret ppl via a school app! I highly recommend this book! It won’t disappoint! Just adorable! Was given an advanced copy for my opinion

PLEASE READ ❤️❤️❤️. This book is personally one of my favorites!!!! I just love how I can relate to a character like Becca Hart. She is an introvert and she questions the whole meaning of true love. Meanwhile, a boy she never thought she’d fall in love with, Brett Wells, showed her what true love is and should be. Despite their stories behind closed doors, they both managed to stay above waters and lean on to each other. They both discovered that not everything is perfect as we expect it to be. But we should see the healing scars of a once open wound.
