Great. This explains a lot about Henry.

Redemption in a Flophouse.. Amy Lane really knows how to do hard and soft, dark and light, and there are definitely some dark moments in this book. I enjoyed reading some of Henry’s story in Fish on a Bicycle, from the point of view of Ellery and Jackson, two of my favourite characters. But that story was as much Ellery and Jackson’s as it was the beginning of Henry’s. But back to favourite characters, whichever book I read of Ms Lane’s, her main characters always turn out be my favourite couple. I have a lot of favourites. This story, Henry’s story goes deeper. Henry can’t get the voice of his homophobic father out of his head. He believes his father’s hateful views and he hates himself. After his world shatters, he ends up on his brother’s doorstep hoping that Dex will help him out, at least for family’s sake. What he finds is a lot of help from his brother and a whole lot of other people who enter his life and slowly, he begins to hurt less and to turn his life around. Henry so deserves the full happy and he finds it with Dex’s family, his new friends and Lance, with whom he learns what love truly is. Two new favourite people.
