She Was Living a Lie!. Lorna Addams is at her husband’s funeral with her children when she is approached by another woman claiming to be her husbands wife. Awkward!! Lorna doesn’t believe her but it turns out she is the second wife and her children are illegitimate. She loses everything. Three years later she moves to another town in another state to start over. She is living and working in a theater. Her boss Heather has been a blessing for her. She meets Heather’s friend Vivian. All three of them have suffered tremendous losses closing off their hearts. That night all three of them find old rings and put them on. Thus starts an amazing journey of self discovery and healing for Lorna. This book will grab you and hold you until the end! New experiences. Love this book as it looks at women who are older and have experienced a lot of ups and downs in their lives. Lorna is a widow who was surprised at her husbands funeral. A few years later, she is getting her life back together and moves to a small town. She gains to new friends, Heather and Vivian, and they start to experience magic via three rings they received and more, while William (a brother) sets his sights on Lorna. The characters are lovable, open, honest and turn into great friends. The storyline is well written, with plenty of drama, great banter, chemistry, surprises, twists, magic and more. Really Enjoyed It. I loved reading this book about second chances. Lorna gets a second chance at friendship when Heather and Vivian become a part of her life. Then at love when Heather’s brother William becomes interested in her. Starting over is never easy and Lorna is such a strong woman especially after what happened to her. I loved the story and the message in this book. We all need a little magic in our lives!

Loved It. Don’t start reading this late at night, because you won’t put it down. This was a great story. These three women are strong because of all they have gone through. But drawn together through their pain, they are capable of so much more. Love the elements of magic in this story and just have to read the rest of the series. Witchcraft and widowhood. Pillow’s venture into the Mid-life Magic genre is exciting, full of surprises, and somehow comfortable, all at once. The story’s heroine, Lorna, has been through a lot, and her efforts to move on with her life after her husband’s death bring all new adventures – and, of course, magic. The friendship that develops between Lorna, Vivian and Heather is everything a woman could dream of. The support, understanding and real love between the three of them is heart-warming and soul-touching. I loved that Lorna actually felt like she was older, in her forties with some life behind her rather than in her twenties. The story wasn’t really involved with her being a mother, though her children were definite facts of life. Second Chance Magic is HER story, about her finding a new path to walk and a new twist in the road of her life – and all that is Perfect. The magic is well-handled as well – seances, ghosts, mysterious powers that each woman has. I really got an old-time Charmed vibe from the story – in all the goods ways. Second Chance Magic is a well-written, enjoyable adventure with a hint of romance and a lot of camaraderie and friendship, and is a great addition to the mid-life magical adventure genre. Bravo for a story that reminds all us ‘not so young’ readers that life often gives gifts we never expect, and that even the really crappy moments can be followed by blessings you never expected. A Magical New Beginning. I always pull for an underdog….but how much is too much? A Widow’s new start might be a little more than she bargained for.This book is an emotional rollercoaster that will have you asking for another ride. I loved this book !

Hilarious and interesting. This story was so good! From the very first word, my attention was completely focused on this story, it’s roller coasters ride of emotions, unexpected paranormal interactions, and hilarious dialogue. I’ve already preordered the next two stories and can’t wait to get them!

Loved this story. I love reading stories about women in their forties who are starting over and living their best life! Lorna was betrayed by her husband when he died and had to move away to escape the aftermath. In this new town she finds true friends, a magical mystery, and a hot guy! Meh..... I’m about a third of the way into the book and I just don’t want to read any more of it. It has been a struggle from the beginning. Tell me the story! Don’t tell me ABOUT the story; I want it all to unfold in front of me and I want to know the characters, not just about them. I was hoping this was going to be a good read, but apparently I just wasted my money.

Awesome book. I love this book from Michelle M. Pillow. The story was awesome. I felt Lorna’s pain when she found out her husband had a second wife. I love how protective her kids were of her. The friendship between Vivian Lorna and Heather made me feel connected to them. I felt their pain and their happiness. Love how they went out of their way to protect and support each other. I love grandma Julia. Love her sassiness.

Never a dull moment. I don’t normally read books labeled as Women’s Fiction, but because I love this author’s works, I read this one. I was not disappointed! The characters, their stories, and the magic involved are all wonderful, and there was never a dull moment in reading it. I look forward to reading the remaining stories in this series.

It was absolutely a great read and I loved Lorna she has her ups and downs but pushes on for her second chance to start over again. It’s a well developed story with an amazing storyline and realistic characters relationships and some magic that kept me hooked. Powerful and Modern. So this story isn’t what I expected and I am pleasantly glad it wasn’t. Powerful emotion and modern events with magic added into the mix. What a great compilation of creativity for a middle age female! I can relate to the middle age quirks and issues. Love how relatable this story is even if it is fiction. Our main female is a widowed mother of college-aged children. Traumatic and life altering events lead Lorna Addams to her new life and this is where the adventure begins. Paranormal activity and bonding of two new friends lead these three women on a thrilling seance. And Lorna just so happens to find her boss, Heather’s older brother William someone to dream about. One for ladies of a certain age. I loved this book. It makes a refreshing change to read about women 40+. This is the first in a series about three women Lorna, Vivien and Heather who find that they have magical abilities. Lorna’s story is the first and it is not until the death of her husband Glenn that she finds her marriage of twenty years was fake as he was already married. Bruised and battered she moves to Freecove to manage a theatre owned by Heather. She finds herself drawn to Heather’s brother William but can she really herself up again? One day she hears Heather talking to her grandmother Julia in the theatre. But the thing is Julia is dead! There are plenty of twists and turns in this enthralling paranormal romance as the three friends fight ghosts and demons before Lorna and William find their HEA. Can’t wait for the next story. Betrayal, SecondChance and Some Magic. I received this in return for an honest review. I have been really enjoying the Fab13 PWF books and this was no exception. It had me hooked right from the very beginning - I didn’t expect the betrayal at the start and it really made me feel and connect with Lorna. I enjoyed the developing relationships between, Lorna, Heather and Vivien. Such a really lovely story where heartbreak and grief brings these three ladies together and Lorna finds herself with a second chance. Brilliant start to a new series and well worth a listen.

Not What I Was Expecting. This story tells how Lorna's life was irrevocably changed after she became a widow at 41. She never saw it coming, her life was happy she and her husband of twenty years had 3 grown-up kids who were all attending college Nicholas was the oldest then there were the twins Jenifer and Jacob. But at the Funeral she learned something that would affect her deeply..... This story was so well written, it deals with loss and starting over, learning to trust your judgement and finding friendship and love in your 40s. This was not what I was expecting but I loved it.

Magical mid life romance. As a woman who is getting on in years I really liked that this book and this series is about women who are not 18 year olds. Right from the beginning I fell in love with the character of Lorna and felt so sad for her. I think that writing characters that are interesting is one of the things that Michelle M Pillow does best. This book combines the rather sweet (at least sweet for Ms Pillow) romance story with magic in really fun ways and makes some points about how your life isn’t over when you reach mid life. A super fun midlife adventure!. What a fun book! I could not put down! I loved the friendship, romance, and ghosts! The story hooked me at page one and was a non stop adventure. An emotional joy ride that leaves you anticipating the next book in the series!
