Born in Dublin, Jenny O’Brien moved to Wales and then Guernsey, where she tries to find time to both read and write in between working as a nurse and ferrying around three teenagers.
In her spare time she can be found frowning at her wonky cakes and even wonkier breads. You'll be pleased to note she won't be entering Bake Off. She's also an all-year-round sea swimmer.

The book was ok .... ... an easy read. Sometimes the conversations and thought processes didn’t make sense or seem natural. A few things were very foreseeable, not so the main plot, but details or side stories. The end was anticlimactic and I felt that there were some loose ends. A few items were mentioned over and over again, like non-ironed blouses and mugs, but maybe that’s just the writing stile. All in all I would read another book of the author, hoping for a few changes, which would definitely make it a four star!
