This book was SO GOOD!. This book was SO GOOD! I've been a Liza-fan for a long time now, and this book was just another reminder of why I will forever read anything she writes; it was SUCH an awesome story. Honestly, I didn't even read the synopsis. I went into this totally blind because I knew that it would be good, no matter what it was about. And I was RIGHT. The book started off easy enough, lulling me into a calm as I met Grant and learned what his lot in life was. But then BAM!!! I did NOT see the catalyst coming, and holy cow, was I shocked. I gave Liza a mental standing ovation for creating such a perfect setup for the rest of the story. From there, the action and twists (and love! Let's not forget the feels!) kept me glued to the pages, and I am DYING to read more in this series. Liza's books keep getting exponentially better and better, and a pack of delinquent shifters couldn't keep me away from reading the next one! (I was given this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)

Great prequel!. This story was a great follow-up to Filthy Beast. I know it's technically a prequel, but I think it was better reading it after Filthy Beast because we already knew the characters a bit. I liked being able to go back in time and read how Grant, Caitlyn and Carter first met one another. I liked getting a chance to see how the characters behaved and acted before Lena shows up. Grant's time inside the Junkyard was unexpected. I wasn't quite sure why Caitlyn, a human, or even Grant for that matter had been in the Junkyard in the first place when I read Filthy Beast. I now know that Grant and Caitlyn were both tricked into the Junkyard by the same man, Mathers the monster. I'm glad they both found their way to where they really belonged and I'm glad they found one another, even if the way they meet was unfortunate. The only thing I will say I'm not keen on about this story, is the fact that Carter seemed kind of douchey. He was flakey and way more violent. I mean, I still like him, but he wasn't as great a character in this story as he was in Filthy Beast. Though, getting a chance to see how he behaved before Lena showed up, to see how bad it was, really makes you appreciate and grasp the gravity of her influence in his life. I really enjoyed my time with the characters and I look forward to reading more about the Junkyard Shifters in the next book.
