Too many characters. Story became scattered.
Too modern. The author claims to do historical research but she uses a lot of modern day speech and sayings. Also she turns typically fearsome warriors into wimpy house husbands after marrying their women. Not so historically accurate, in my opinion.
Loved it. I loved this book.
Second book?. I look forward to great things from Elina Emerald if she is this new to writing and doing such a good job. I like her stories and the twists. At some points it gets a little complicated but it doesn’t detract from the overall story. One complaint please phonetically spell out some of these names for us! Otherwise worth my time.

Loved it!. I loved this historical romance! Orla’s crazy-complicated family were awesome and the historical figures were fun additions. Highly recommend!
Well worth a read!. Love this series of books. I stumbled on them and then couldn’t put them down. Love the storyline’s portray strong women.
