Fault Lines by Voddie T. Baucham Book Summary
The Ground Is Moving
The death of George Floyd at the hands of police in the summer of 2020 shocked the nation. As riots rocked American cities, Christians affirmed from the pulpit and in social media that “black lives matter” and that racial justice “is a gospel issue.”
But what if there is more to the social justice movement than those Christians understand? Even worse: What if they’ve been duped into preaching ideas that actually oppose the Kingdom of God?
In this powerful book, Voddie Baucham, a preacher, professor, and cultural apologist, explains the sinister worldview behind the social justice movement and Critical Race Theory—revealing how it already has infiltrated some seminaries, leading to internal denominational conflict, canceled careers, and lost livelihoods. Like a fault line, it threatens American culture in general—and the evangelical church in particular.
Whether you’re a layperson who has woken up in a strange new world and wonders how to engage sensitively and effectively in the conversation on race or a pastor who is grappling with a polarized congregation, this book offers the clarity and understanding to either hold your ground or reclaim it.

Amazing! Be equipped against wokism!. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, as the adaptation of SJ by many professing Christians proves to be bringing error and or heresy into the church. It seems every generation has a heresy to defend against and for such a time as this, SJ is ours. This book will challenge, equip, and give you proper biblical perspective to navigate social justice. It’s a great read for a church book club. Voddie never ceases to hit the nail of truth on the head, and has such a great read on the culture.
Excellent. Excellent and convicting
NoCRT4Me. Great book on the truth about CRT. Christians need to learn what CRT really is, and do what they can to raise awareness... Great job Pastor Voddie!
Eye opening. Excellent book on the deception of Racial Justice. Which is no justice at all. The book exposes how the Racial Justice movement exploits the Christian values of loving all people no matter their melanin, and sneaking in the door a greater divide and divisions between us.
Fault lines. Amazing, data rich, well researched & spot on target for our Christian generation. A must read.
Best Book of the Year. By far the best book I’ve read this year, and is so needed in the Church today.
CRT. At last, a clear, irrefutable explanation of the harmful intent and Marxist foundation of CRT. Please share this wisdom with the full circle of your influence. I had no idea this heresy is being embraced by evangelicals.
Fault Lines. Thought provoking, solid, informative.
A huge disappointment. This book is trash. It does as expected, ties CRT and Social Justice to Socialism. It jumps into a discussion of CT as a world view that is not Christian so it must all be trash. The author establishes his perspective and states his credibility then he lumps social justice into a narrow outlook of a handful of stats from the opposition. He beats his chest as he poorly himself into the it’s a made up media hoax argument with likes like do you know why you didn’t hear about this other story “because they were white”. While he is well read on theory he is far from application of most of the movement. His error lies in the fact that he states public outcry is because of thr narrative of George Floyd or others instead of what thousand of others have seen, felt or experienced. While I’m glad he was well received by the SBC and others he neglects to talk about sentencing inequality, stop and frisk laws, harassment, redlining or the history that CRT points out that isn’t trying to divide people it’s trying to make sure it doesn’t repeat. I’m disappointed in this book, if you care about the topic I would read the book titled “The New Jim Crow Laws”.
You’ll be triggered…. …but that’s a good thing. This is speaking real truth to cultural power.
