Reich, verwöhnt und ahnungslos, so bezeichnet ihre Mitbewohnerin Jenny Schoenau ihre Freundin. Der jungen Frau ist nichts in den Schoß gefallen, sie hat um alles kämpfen müssen. Wie in jeden Sommersemesterferien geht sie ihrer Beschäftigung als Reiseleiterin nach, um ihr Studium zu finanzieren. Linda beneidet die Mitbewohnerin: Sie wünscht sich auch nichts sehnlicher, als eine Aufgabe zu haben, an der man sich bewähren muss.
Als Jenny an einer Blinddarmentzündung erkrankt und operiert werden muss, kann sie ihre Stelle als Reiseleiterin nicht antreten. Linda sieht ihre Chance gekommen, endlich mal ein Abenteuer zu erleben, indem sie Jenny vertritt. Ohne ihre Eltern zu informieren, springt sie für ihre Freundin ein. Sie tut ja schließlich nichts Verbotenes. Linda ist aufgeregt, sie hat noch nie eine Pauschalreise mitgemacht. Ein Fräulein von Wussow pflegt im eigenen Wagen zu fahren und im besten Hotel abzusteigen. Aber gerade das ist es ja, was sie so sehr reizt, das Neue, das ganz andere ...
