Starry-Eyed Love by Helena Hunting Book Summary

Charming, hilarious, and emotional, Starry-Eyed Love is Helena Hunting at her very best!

Having just broken up with her boyfriend, London Spark is not in the mood to be hit on. Especially not when she’s out celebrating her single status with her sisters. So when a very attractive man pays for their drinks and then slips her his number, she passes it right back to him with a ‘thanks, but no thanks’. As the business administrator for their family’s event hotel, the Spark House, London has more important things to worry about, like bringing in new clientele.

As luck would have it, a multi-million-dollar company calls a few months later asking for a meeting to discuss a potential partnership, and London is eager to prove to her sisters, and herself, that she can land this deal. Just when she thinks she has nailed her presentation, the company’s CEO, Jackson Holt, walks in and inserts himself into the meeting. Not only that, but he also happens to be the same guy she turned down at the bar a few months ago.

As they begin to spend more time together, their working relationship blossoms into something more. It isn’t until their professional entanglements are finally over, that London and Jackson are finally ready to take the next step in their relationship. But between Jackson’s secretive past and London’s struggle with her sisters, London must question where she really stands - not just with Jackson, but with the Spark House, too.

Love love love. Phenomenal!!! These sisters, although family, are very close. As Spark House expands, their jobs are getting more hectic and the romance department is building up too. Can the sisters find balance? Can London find her happy place? Will raw emotions ruin everything? Gosh I loved this book. It’s a slow build with no angst. It’s perfect and it always amazes me that Helena’s writing has me feeling like I’m a character watching from the sidelines. It’s definitely a must read!

Loved Jackson. London Sparks is the middle Sparks sisters. She is the peacemaker and caregiver in the family. London is out with her sisters celebrating her breakup with her boyfriend when a handsome man pays for the sisters tab and asks London out. London rejects his request. Fast forward several months, and Holt Media contacts Spark House about a partnership. Of course, the guy she rejected happens to be the CEO of Holt Media, Jackson Holt. Jackson is a self made Billionaire who is thrilled that he is working with London, but that means she is off limits. I loved Jackson, he is a loyal friend, a nice guy and is principled. London was a little less easy to warm up too. She is neurotic and a bit of a doormat when it comes to her family. I also loved that you had cameo appearances from characters of the Shacking Up series. I had a similar issue with this book that I had with the first book. There is the inevitable issue that threatens the happily ever after of the couple in the story, I want the issue to not be solved too quickly, or take too long, but the Goldilocks’ just right amount of time. In both of these books, I thought that it belabored this issue. Overall, this is an enjoyable book and I cannot wait for the third sister, Harley’s book. I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and the author for my honest review.

Stars in my eyes. In love with these two! The story kept me glued to the pages and the chemistry was fun to read. This is quickly becoming a favorite series from Helena.

Amazing book!!. I loved reading about London. She is very smart and knows what she is doing even though at times she thought she failed her and her sisters. When she meets the CEO Jackson Holt, she treated him like another human being not a rich billionaire. My hopes were for them together. I liked that it was friendship first and just didn't start with a relationship. I love the chase with these two. He already thought London was special when first seeing her. I love how he was helping the sisters with their business by providing clients. I highly recommend this book. It was another great read Helena Hunting. I can't wait to read about their other sister, Harley.

Feel Good Book. I really enjoyed this story and read it in almost one sitting. London helps run Spark House with her sisters. When they get an opportunity to work with a multi-million dollar media company, they jump at the chance for an interview. Needless to say, when London meets the CEO, she is surprised to find this is the same man who asked her out a few months ago at a bar that she turned down. Jackson, like London, have had tragedy in their pasts and haven’t been looking for love, but as they start to work on this project they grow closer even though “they aren’t dating”. This is a billionaire trope, but unlink many, Jackson is a down to earth guy. I loved their slow burn that leads to some steamy scenes. This is a feel good book with low angst. I also loved seeing some old friends from Helena Hunting’s Shaking Up series who made appearances throughout the book.

Delightful Romance. Starry-Eyed Love by Helena Hunting is the second book in her Spark House series, but can be read as a stand-alone book. This fun contemporary romance is just a bit steamy, and a lot of romantic fantasy all in one book. London Spark is out at the local pub with her two sisters, as they dissect London’s recent breakup with her boyfriend. When a handsome but somewhat scruffy man asks out London, she has to refuse. It’s too close to her breakup and she’s not in the market for a new relationship. But, three months later, she attends a business meeting, and when it’s interrupted by the CEO of the company, London is stunned to realize that the CEO is the same man who asked her out all those months ago. Jackson Holt is the CEO of Holt Media and is intrigued by the charming woman who runs Spark House with her sisters. But, he learned from experience never to mix business with pleasure so he vows to keep away from the charming London Spark. As with the previous Spark House book, I enjoyed the sisters and their bond. They work, laugh, and support each other. They lost their parents a few years back and they are determined to continue the legacy of their parents and grandparents. In Starry-Eyed Love, they find a few cracks in this bond, but they don’t allow it to break them. The romance is a bit of a slow burn, but once it heats up, it’s full-on. Jackson is a rich CEO and he’s able to woo London with expensive trips and gifts, but he’s still a down-to-earth guy who always remembers his simple roots. He has wonderful friends and is especially close to his childhood best friend, Trent. I recommend Starry-Eyed Love to anyone who enjoys a good romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Enjoyed it. It was cute and I really enjoyed it. Finished it in one day. Both characters were charismatic and realistic. I loved the crossover of characters of the shacking up series which I absolutely adore.

Starry-Eyed Love. This is a wonderful heart warming story. It’s about three sisters and their inherited B+B. It showed you the ups and downs that go with sisterly love. Also a wonderful Romance between Jackson and London. We get to see two people that thought they never wanted a romance fall in love.

Love this series!. I really love this series. Jackson and London’s chemistry is on fire as well as their banter. I enjoyed how they developed a friendship and how that evolves into something more. This one will grab you from the beginning and have you rooting for them until the end.

Super cute story. This is the second book with the Spark sisters and just like When Sparks Fly, Starry Eyed Love was laugh out loud funny. Fantastic characters, great story and tons of laughs and a lot of love. Loving these sisters and cannot wait for more!

Phenomenal Romance. Starry-Eyed Love (Spark House #2) by Helena Hunting I was hopelessly devoted in love with Starry-Eyed Love. I couldn’t put this phenomenal, engaging and fun book down. I adore this author’s style of writing and I loved both London Spark and Jackson Holt. And being back at Spark House with the Spark sisters was so exciting, refreshing charming, as well as frustrating at times. You will love how close these sisters have become as they work together to grow their amazing family business. London Spark is the middle sister and so creative she even has an Etsy store on the side. She has just broken up with her latest boyfriend and is out celebrating her new single status with her sisters Avery and Harley. When an attractive man pays for their food and drink and slips London his phone number, but she turns him down flat. Fast forward a few months later a multi-million dollar company calls and asks for a meeting to learn more about Spark House. They want to see if it would be a good addition to their network, since they are seeking out more family-run companies like Spark House. During the meeting, the company’s CEO Jackson Holt, enters after London has started her presentation. Eventually she is floored when she realizes that although he looks different, he is the man that she rejected at the bar a few months ago. And now she and Spark House could really use his help. Jackson Holt is usually a strictly professional business man who is against romance with colleagues, but the chemistry between him and London is hard for him to get past. But, he knows from experience to not mix business with pleasure and he stays away until their business has concluded. But then he is dropping by and supporting her in every way and in everything she is involved with. And their spark soon is quite the flame as he uses everything at his disposal to woo the woman that has captured his attention. I loved the slow burn chemistry between London and Jackson. I was a goner for him and his caring and loving ways. This story was sweet, romantic, charming, delicious, hot and totally swoon worthy. A story that kept me fully entertained from start to finish. Leaving me with a wide grin on my face and a happy heart. I can’t wait to see what’s next in the wonderful Spark House Series. I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.

London. I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is book 2 in the series but it easily stands alone. In this story we also get to see a few cameo appearances by some of the authors previous Shacking Up series like Griff, Cosy and Linc. They are connected to Jackson, who is this books leading man and he introduces London to those characters. London meets Jackson when she is invited to partner with a green business thats goal is to raise money for their initiatives and charities, She is in Colorado and Jackson is based in NYC. But he is expanding into Colorado so his firm wants to bring London and her sisters in to partner with them as they host events in Colorado. Essentially Jackson and London begin a business only relationship as they work on this event together. He has a firm rule about mixing business and romance and so while he is in heavy like with London he forbids himself in getting personally involved with London until their business concludes. I loved the first 60-70% of the story. In it we explore their business relationship as they fall for each other and then when it concludes we also get to see them date and spend time together romanticly. But then this woman that Jackson works with forms a sort of love triangle with Jackson and London. Jackson never cheats and we never see him get romantic with this other woman, its more about their past together than anything else and Jackson hides some things from London. This is my issue with this woman, Jackson refuses to even kiss London until their business relationship ends but this other woman works with him in a significant way as she runs their social media, she is also a family friend and he also had a romantic relationship with her. This for me was a big issue. He was fine mixing business and personal with her but he was not okay doing it with London. What I do like is that after this is discovered, London dumps Jackson and won't listen to him and making up takes a lot of effort. I loved that it was not a quick fix and she makes him really work for it. As a whole I enjoyed this story a lot. I hated the slight triangle and had some questions about it. But if I ignore that part of the story I loved the early part of Jackson and London's relationship and even the ending.

Great book!. Loved it! I loved going back to the Spark House & having more of the Spark sisters. London & Jackson’s unique love story was a sweet start & a breathtaking ending to this book!

Put my heart through the ringer!. Starry-eyed Love is such a wonderful, entertaining, heartwarming read that put my heart through the ringer. This is London Sparks story and it really packs a punch, I loved everything about it and read it in one sitting! There is something special about a book that grabs you from the start to the end and makes you want so much more. London is a creative, caring, heart on her sleeves woman, shes sassy, fiery and a talker. She does her utmost to help her sisters with running Spark House. When an exciting opportunity comes their way, she jumps at the opportunity, albeit until she sees the CEO. Needless to say this book is nothing short of entertaining and I just thoroughly enjoyed every word. A book to put high on your tbr list for sure!

Love These Sisters!. There is something about this book, and the previous one - When Sparks Fly, that has a sense of familiarity and I have thought about it a lot whilst reading. I feel it is because the characters are like people we know, they could be our genuine friends and to me, that's a big plus. I like to escape when reading, but it also has to have a convincing storyline. Even from the first chapter, I felt like I was at Spark House and watching this love story unfold with the sisters. London Spark is the middle sister, the creative one, and also heads up the business administration side of the family run hotel. Jackson Holt may be a self made millionaire, but with his down to earth personality and humble yet sad upbringing, he is not pompous. After London thanks a kind gentleman who paid for drinks on a sisters night out, she is completely shocked to find out he is none other than the man behind Holt Media. They discuss the opportunity of Spark House joining the Teamology initiative headed up by Jackson's company, and it's very clear that they have a special connection. Now they are working together, dating is off the table, which is disappointing for both of them. This contemporary romance could be considered a slow burn, as they spend time together not only working but getting to know each other without the kissing. Nevertheless, things don't go smoothly with tension between the sisters and Jackson's past. I wouldn't call this an angsty book, more of a realistic relationship with some bumps and tears along the way. Now that two of the Spark sisters have found their HEA, I am looking forward to reading Harley's tale and wondering who the remarkable man might be that catches her heart.

Starry eyed love. Second book in the series and this time we follow London as she juggles a budding romance with a business partner. London has a lot of anxiety that flows into the pages which had this feeling a little less lighthearted than my usual romance choices. Her being anxious kinda made me anxious along with her. Still a good read and a nice amount of spice to keep you interested ;) Dual POV, med spice, 18+

Ticked all my boxes. Starry-Eyed Love (Stark House #2) is London Spark and Jackson Holt’s captivating journey and I’m sure like me it will tick all your boxes. London and Jackson have a history, the first time they met she turned him down so imagine the shock when she comes face to face with him again, only this time she needs his help. Determined to push through a business deal for her family hotel she never expected to be pitching her presentation to Jackson Holt…… Will working together bring this couple closer or will it ruin any future they could have before it has a chance to begin. You will need to read the book to find that out…. London and Jackson’s story is a beautifully written, sweet yet steamy romance and it will appeal to all romance lovers. I fell hard and fast for Jackson and London is the sassy girl I would love in my corner but honestly together they become a couple that stayed with long after reading the final word. Can’t wait to see what’s next in the wonderful Spark House Series. I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.

Loved it. Starry-Eyed Love ticked all the boxes for me as London Spark and Jackson Holt’s story unfolded. I adore Helena Hunting’s style of writing and I loved both these characters. , The first time London and Jackson met, she rejected his advances. Fast forward a few months and London is determined to push through the latest business deal on behalf of her family’s hotel. Imagine her horror when after nailing her presentation the CEO of the company walks in and it is Jackson, the man she rejected months ago. Working together it becomes harder to resist the sizzling attraction that continues to build. I fell hard and fast for Jackson and I loved how caring, sassy and feisty London was as she stood her ground not only with her family but with Jackson. Starry-Eyed Love was a sweet, romantic, steamy story about two people who are destined to be together. From start to finish Helena Hunting wove together a story that I could not put down, she had me totally engrossed from the first to the last chapter.

Loved this. Loved this!!! Author Helena Hunting brought the emotions out strong in this story. Love & loss, fear & regret, misunderstandings & forgiveness are what this story represents. Jackson & London have both lost beloved parents & are both afraid to give their complete heart, but as Jackson wears down London they both fall hard. Misunderstandings & incomplete truths tear them apart just as they’re starting. Now forgiveness is all that’s left as they try to move forward with their relationship. I enjoyed the chase Jackson gave for London’s attention, even when he tried not to & I enjoyed the capture of the heart as they each realize the truth of their love. I also enjoyed the build up to Avery & Declan’s wedding, as well as the swift growth of Spark House. This story had many aspects running through it that kept us involved & hooked needing to know what was going to happen next. Definitely recommend. Thank you the publisher & Net Galley for letting me read this book for an honest review.

Escape to Spark House with this Sweet Story. Check out my more detailed thoughts below… Characters: Our heroine is London Spark, the middle sister of the three Spark girls. The Sparks run their family’s bed and breakfast, the Spark House. London takes up more of the business side of things, at the expense of her more creative side. I really liked London, she is my favourite of the sisters so far. Her dynamic with her sisters was interesting, especially to watch her interact with Avery. Her hero is Jackson. He is the CEO of a massive corporation that links businesses with green initiatives together. I liked how caring Jackson was, but his secretive nature kept me warry. I found it often fueled unnecessary conflicts. There were so many cameos from Helena’s other series with St. Martin’s, these characters are Jackson’s friends we meet in the story. Setting: The Spark House is in Colorado, and it is so quaint and lovely. It is so interesting to see how the Spark house ties these sisters together. We also get to spend some quality time in New York, I particularly like a particular scene of some early morning crepes between friends. Pacing: The story was paced very well. It felt like a very natural build towards all the conflicts of the story. Of the push and pull between the working and more personal relationship between Jackson and London. As well as the bubbling up of the anxieties London has around running the Spark House. Romance: This story starts with one of the best meet-cutes I have read in a long time. I loved suave Jackson waltzes in and London turns him down, just to see him later as the boss of the new deal she is crafting for the Spark House. The early part of the story showcased an initial crash and burn for London, which is relatable for so many readers out there. London and Jackson’s relationship is exactly the right person at the wrong time. I loved how the calm, cool and collected London gets all blushy and trips up her words when she’s around Jackson. It was so cute to see them do things that people do who are dating, but then be like no we are not dating. I got very invested in London and Jackson’s relationship. I felt every butterfly and every heartbreak along with them. This is much more of an emotive, sweet romance. There is a bit of steam, but this is much more of a lighthearted romantic comedy. Something we all need sometimes.

The sparks fly between the pair from the first. We have London and Jackson, two people that have purposely structured their love lives to be safe; picking partners that will be easy to leave so as to never get hurt the way losing parents hurts. Until they come crashing into each other’s orbits, and the harder they try to resist the pull to one another, the stronger the force drawing them together becomes. The sparks fly between the pair from the first moment we see them together – it’s just not in the most positive way. They generate all kinds of chemistry, even though they spend a big portion of the book fighting against it. It’s a slower burn romance and, to be honest, there were times I just wanted to hurry these two along a little. (Just a little though, because I enjoyed the build-up of anticipation.) For me, the loudest message I heard in this book was the importance of talking issues out. There’re several little things that are allowed to become really big deals before they’re finally cleared up at the end. And on that note, even though I liked Avery in the previous book, this one certainly didn’t show her in a very flattering light. Now that I’ve had the chance to spend a little more time with Harley, I can’t wait to find out what it will take to get a Happily Ever After for the third Spark sister. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through NetGalley.

Starry-Eyed Love. "𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝." "𝙎𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝." London and Jackson seem to keep coming into each other’s lives at the wrong time to act on their attraction to each other but when the right time finally comes, Jackson’s past may be too much of a hurdle to overcome. I am not sure why but I have struggled with the Spark House books. I did not feel a romantic connection between Jackson and London, there was a little too much drama from the secondary characters, and the book moved a little too slowly for me. Starry-Eyed Love is the second book in the Spark House series which is a friends-to-lovers, workplace romance told in the dual first-person point of view. ⏤ 3.5 Maple Leafs ⏤

seductive romance. 4.25stars--STARRY-EYED LOVE is the second instalment in Helena Hunting’s contemporary, adult SPARK HOUSE romance series focusing on the Spark sisters: Avery, London and Harley. This is business and financial administrator, co-owner for the Spark House /Event hotel London Spark, and thirty-five year old, billionaire businessman CEO Jackson Holt’s story line. STARRY-EYED LOVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Told from dual first person perspectives (London and Jackson) STARRY-EYED LOVE follows the building romance and relationship between business and financial administrator, co-owner for the Spark House /Event hotel London Spark, and billionaire businessman CEO Jackson Holt. Several months earlier, following the break up of her most recent relationship, London spent the evening at a bar with her sisters where she would meet a stranger but with her break up still fresh in her mind, London rebuffed the handsome stranger never getting his name or details in the process. Several months would pass and a business opportunity for Spark House presents itself wherein London will come face to face with Jackson Holt, the CEO of Holt Media and Consulting, the man she met months before. Holt Media is hoping to liaison with Spark House for a business proposal, a proposal that will bring London and Jackson up close and personal but when London offers Jackson a second chance to take her out, our hero refuses, placing London on the sidelines with a potentially broken heart. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between London and Jackson, and the potential fall-out as Jackson’s past refuses to walk away, destroying London in the process. Jackson Holt had no idea that London Spark would be the woman he met months before but working together meant the possiblity of a conflict of interest if either one pursued a romantic relationship together, therefore, Jackson had reluctantly set aside his need for London, a need upon which he knew was mutually wanted. London Spark was humiliated when Jackson rebuffed her romantic advance, and in this, London struggled going forward with Jackson Holt but the business opportunities afforded Spark House meant the potential for an enormous surge in bookings and popularity, if only the heart did not want something it could no longer have. The relationship between Jackson and London is one of immediate attraction but London refused Jackson’s initial advances, and in the end, perhaps he wanted something she was unable to afford to give. The $ex scenes are passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including London’s sisters Avery (Declan), and Harley. We are introduced to Jackson’s friends and business partners Trent, Lincoln and Griffin , as well as his assistant Mitchell, and Selene Angelis, Jackson’s social media and marketing advisor. STARRY-EYED LOVE is a story of family, relationships, and acceptance; misunderstand and mistrust; romance, passion and love. The premise is captivating; the romance is seductive; the characters are strong-willed, determined and dynamic.

A cute funny romance!. This is the second book in the Spark House series and it's just as cute and funny as the first one. London is just so sweet and wants nothing but the best for her sisters and Spark House. Even if it means she has no time for her Esty Store or any personal time at all. I love how Jackson goes all out to try and win London over. He's not used to any roadblocks as he has had a long-standing friends-with-benefits relationship and that's just the way he's always wanted it in the past ... no complications. That is until London. I was kinda hoping for a book on Jackson's best friend Trent ... but I can see that won't be in the cards ... for this series anyway. I can't wait for Harley's book and to see who her love interest will be. London meets Jackson a few days after she ended a long-time relationship. She didn't really know who he was until a few months later when she's giving sales pitch to Holt Media and Jackson joins the meeting unexpectedly. At first, she doesn't recognize him as today he's clean shaven, in a suit and looks like the powerful man he is. When he asked her out in a bar a few months ago, he was in jeans and a T-shirt, had a beard and looked like he belonged in the wild. Jackson can't believe his luck to have a second shot at getting London to go out with him, only to realize he can't date a client. But the sparks fly between them and it doesn't take long for them to realize they can't fight the pull they have with one another. But will his past and her present prevent them from taking it to the next level? I received an early copy courtesy of St. Martin's Press through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
