Delightful!. When Lady Violet Belmaine is persuaded to attend a country house party by her friend and physician, she anticipates weeks of boredom, but not a mysterious series of thefts. Rising to the challenge and assisted by her former dear friend, Sebastian MacHeath, Marquess of Dunkeld, Lady Violet defends a veteran who is initially accused of the crimes, saving an innocent man from prosecution. As the story unfolds, Lady Violet and Sebastian renew their acquaintance which had become strained over the years due to misunderstandings and life experiences on both their parts. This story was just delightful! Ms. Burrowes writes witty dialog which is perfectly at home in the historical setting. As in many of Ms. Burrowes books, the resolution is totally unexpected and totally perfect. This book was provided by the author without any requirement for a review, positive or otherwise. All opinions are 100% my own.

Doesn’t sound at all like Grace Burrowes. I wanted to rate this book less than one. I knew almost immediately that the twin was setting up someone. It was a lot of rambling words for nothing. Read Grace’s romantic writings to enjoy well written tales.
