Was ok. Just can’t stand books where a female detective is so full of herself, but worst when a Kate character is so insure she misses her murdered spouse one minute and entertaining a man the next. Comes off as a tramp. And what kind of mother leaves two small children with a man. Lots of nonsensical fillers. And you don’t chase after bicycles going the wrong way, what kind of moron would do this - oh yeah a female cop.

Great mystery. I just couldn’t put it down. Every time I sat, I had to read another chapter. Brilliant writer, I felt as though I was with the characters all the time.

Different and interesting. Really enjoyed that this book encompassed a whole range of historical misdeeds which eventually were brought to equitable solutions. The methods of getting to that point were many and varied but the characters involved and the background stories and details made for a thoroughly good read. Eventually justice prevailed. Thank goodness.
