Craving the Fight by L.P. Dover Book Summary

Fame. Money. Status. An infinite number of women standing ringside in hopes of one night with him. These are all the things Carter Reynolds loves about being MMA royalty. As a UFC Heavyweight champion, and the son of the illustrious Matt Reynolds, Carter thinks he has everything he could ever want.

Until he comes face to face with Emma Jameson—the one who got away. The pair are bonded by a secret from their past, one that none in their inner circle can ever know about…

Thanks to her father, Emma is no stranger to the MMA world. UFC Middleweight champion, Ryley Jameson, is known far and wide for his scandalous antics in and out of the ring. His fame put her in the spotlight at a very early age. It even led to her lucrative modeling career and the opportunity for her to travel the world. Now Emma is back with the family of fighters she left behind and quickly discovers a darkness that has wriggled its way into the MMA fold.

Someone demands retribution for the sins of the past, and they’ve chosen to make Emma their first target. Determined to keep her safe, Carter will do whatever it takes to protect her, even if that means putting his life on the line.

As hidden truths are revealed, Carter and Emma find that no one in their circle is safe… and this is only the beginning.

Addictive story. Beautiful romance. I don't know what rock I have been hiding under, but I will admit that I have not read the original series. I thought it was just a MMA fighter series. Boy, was I wrong!!!! I definitely will be rectifying my mistake. I want to go back and read the original stories so I can meet the rest of the family, the original characters, and see everything that they went through and survived. It will not be a hardship. Just the hints of the parents past in this book has my curiosity demanding to read them all NOW. Authors have a writing cave, I need a reading cave so I won't be disturbed as I get sucked into the series. The author did an amazing job of writing a next generation story without confusing me. The author gave me enough background information so I was never lost. I was given glimpses into the past. I was shown how the past influences the present. The author piqued my interest in the parents' stories while sucking me into a riveting story involving the children. The story was thrilling to read. The relationships between the fighters and their siblings illustrate just how supportive they are of one another. They have no problem stepping in and helping each other out, no matter the cost. There is a lot to be learned from them as they stand up to evil to protect their own. I don't know how the author did it, but I felt as if I was ringside. I heard the punches. I smelt the sweat and blood. The tension was extreme, not just for the fighters but for everyone else. Emotion rolled off the pages, both good and bad. My hatred for those that were forcing issues are real. The Mafia storyline added so much to the drama. There are many different crime families involved, but there is one that is worse than the others. The organizer will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Nikolai is the perfect villain. HIs creepiness had me wanting to boil my eyes and scrub in Lysol. I wanted to yell "Run" whenever he graced the page. I can't wait for him to get what he deserves. He will get what he deserves, right? That would be an amazing happily ever after. I must thank the author for the romantic side of the story. I do enjoy a second chance romance. Emma and Carter deserve happiness but the author sure makes them work for it.

So much suspense. I missed the Gloves Off series when I first discovered LP Dover years ago but picking up this next gen series didn’t have me feeling lost at all. I will say I probably would have had more of an appreciation for everything these characters went through. There was a ton of suspense and the sparks between Carter and Emma were off the charts. Some parts were seriously over the top but this book kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

seductive and steamy. CRAVING THE FIGHT is the first instalment in LP Dover’s contemporary adult GLOVES OFF-NEXT GENERATION erotic, MMA romance series-a spin off from the author’s GLOVES OFF series focusing on the ‘next generation’ -the children- of the characters introduced in the original series. This is UFC champion Carter Reynolds, son of Matt Reynolds, and model Emma Jameson’s, daughter of Ryley Jameson story line. WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers. Told from dual first person perspectives (Carter and Emma) CRAVING THE FIGHT follows the rekindling romance and relationship between UFC champion Carter Reynolds, and model Emma Jameson. Emma Jameson’s family has a dark past, and the past is about to come full circle when Emma receives a special delivery threatening her family and the people she loves. Leaving New York to return to her hometown in California, Emma reaches out to her brothers and sisters while struggling to stay away from Carter Reynolds, the man she once loved. In an effort to protect her parents, Emma is about to enter the proverbial lion’s den, a lion that is taking aim at our story line hero. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Carter and Emma, and the potential fall-out as the past demands revenge, using the next generation in his quest for power. The relationship between Carter and Emma is one of second chances; a rebuilding romance between two people torn apart by fame and life. Emma was desperate to avoid the man she once loved but at the same time craved the thrill of the what was. Carter vows to protect Emma the only way he knows how, and the vow is about to place them in the middle of a feud where not everyone survives. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including most of the Reynolds and Jameson siblings, as well as the return of Matt Reynolds, Tyler Rushing and his son Kane, and Emma’s sister Reagan. The requisite evil has many faces including the involvement of the Russian mob. CRAVING THE FIGHT is a story of family and second chances; history and vengeance; secrets and lies, acceptance and love. The premise is captivating and engaging; the romance is seductive and steamy; the characters are determined, desperate and impassioned. CRAVING THE FIGHT ends on a bit of a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

The Next Generation comes out swinging!. I really liked Carter and Emma. The premise of the story is really good because you can tell that certain aspects of the story that will carry on into the rest of the series. I did not read the original series Gloves Off, therefore I'm finding there are a lot of characters But it did help that there was a chart at the beginning to let you know who was who ... I would have been totally lost without it. I would have liked to know why Emma and Carter split up in the first place and I thought they got back together way too quick. WOW ... did Carter and Emma sizzle between the sheets! The end of the book left me wanting more ... I guess that's why it's called a series ... lol! Carter and Emma had a secret relationship when they were teenagers, but ended up going their separate ways. A few years later Emma receives a threat, so she goes home to California to ask her siblings and friends for their help to get to the bottom of it. Carter just won the MMA Heavyweight championship in Las Vegas. When he goes home to California and finds out that Emma is being threatened, his protective instincts take over. He won't let her out of his sight until they have the threat eliminated. I received an early copy courtesy of Grey's Promotion in exchange for a honest review.
