The Creative Act. I could only read the first 26 pages. Whereupon I received a notice that I had finished the book. There seems to be no way to get beyond this point. Nor is there any way I can find to report the problem. A great disappointment.

Superb, deep, incredibly insightful introspection on the act of creating, and the human experience. For any artist, or anyone who wishes to create art. I recommend this book over any other book I have read. I happen to know that it was developed over eight long years, after a lifetime of paying close attention, and it shows. To the author and his team. Thank you so very much for taking the time to put into words these ideas and experiences which are so intangible. In doing so you’ve given people the ability to perceive regularly what can take years of vigilance to get a glimpse of. Reading this book I have sobbed many times, not because of any explicit sadness, but because this book touches on things that are found so far within the depths of our experience. You’ve managed to pierce into the depths of my soul, Rick! And remind me.. we are a vessel. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. Seminal. One of the most important books on creativity I’ve ever read.

This should be a required reading. I really enjoyed reading this! What Rick explores can help anyone who takes an idea from inception to completion. I thought this was thorough, organized, palatable, and engaging.

life changing. a great shift in perspective on how to live free.

Meh. Lots of strong lines but feels void of humanity? Missing some soul, also very obviously pulls alot of knowledge from different faiths and Indigenous ways of knowing without really saying so? Seeing that I read a lot of books about nature and conscious living nothing here was mind blowing. It’s basically saying slow down, trust, listen and avoid capitalistic thinking when it comes to creativity.
