The Pirate Lord. Oceanrosebud. A most beautifully told pirate love story. I even had a tear at the end of the story as the characters (Gideon and Sara) seemed so real and genuine. The secondary characters are also so well developed that this story takes a life of its own as you find yourself unable to stop reading until that very last word. As all Jeffries' books, this has it all romance, love, and compassion. Don't miss this one! The first of the three. Next is Jordan's story. Wish I had read them in order, but each book is self contained so you can read any way you want. Loved this book!

Glorified Stockholm syndrome. This romance novel is the classic bad boy with a heart of gold story only with a historical twist. Instead of riding a motorcycle there is a ship with a whole band of rebellious pirates. And a woman who appears to stand for feminism but quickly falls victim to Stockholm syndrome. Her kidnap and her eventual marriage to the pirate lord are obviously due to the psychological trauma and her lovers almost constant and undying attraction to her. The only thing the "pirate lord" really feels for her is lust. Lust that is prompted by his ability to over power and dominate her physically. Somehow though we the readers are expected to forgive this pirate merely because he has a troubled past? Well of we forgave everyone because of their troubled past we would have a lot more serial killers walking around.

Yes!. This is the best book I’ve read in a while. I love it!

Wonderful love story. I was fortunate enough to find a website that asked readers to send in their favorite romance books. I'm so tired of all the fake reviews written by bloggers who give high praise to many books that don't deserve it (especially if the author is well known). Many authors give free books to these bloggers and I believe a good review is expected because of the "gift" it's so hard to find honest reviews online but this book was very good. The female prisoners transported from Newgate prison to New South Wales is historically correct as well.
