4th time reading this book. If you want to read something that you can almost reach out and touch, this is the book! So vivd and detailed. Each character has depth and the overall story pulls you in. Good to the last page.

Imajica. I grew up on Stephen King and Clive Barker. Out of all the books I have read over the years this is still by far and away my favorite. I recently gave a rare copy to my son after he graduated college and he has said that now it is his favorite story. As a deeply religious, yet open minded person, I appreciate the writing and never crossing the line of that which cannot happen, yet it challenges all I believe. Without challenges why is there faith. Truly a well thought out story and anything that makes you think that what you read is possible is brilliance. Definitely a masterpiece.

Return again and again. I have read this book three times now and am tempted for a 4th. I will always come back to this book to relive the journey. Thank you, Mr. Barker.

Imagine a place of unending mystery. I savored Imajica over several months. It deserved a slow, methodical read, giving Clive Barker’s prose the attention it deserved. From the intimately drawn characters to the lovingly detailed scenes, it is a masterwork from cover to cover. My personal favorite is the scene when Gentle goes back to a town he visited to find all of the people dead - man, woman, and child. His grief is so palpable, and I could finally see how he was changing internally in answer to the call he was heading. Imajica is an epic story that can and will be interpreted differently by every reader just as every human heart and soul is unique. If I could make it required reading…mandatory for everyone, I would do it.

Must read for fantasy / horror readers. Barker is a master, his written descriptions are simply stunning. I read this book when it came out and still think it is my all time favorite read. A huge book, complex and wonderful. A genius mind at his peak.
