I loved it. This is without a doubt the best best book I've ever read. Not only was it a beautiful love story, but it also had a lot of history in it. I can't get over how much I loved reading this book!

Wonderful read, I was looking for someone like gabaldon and found it!,. A thoughtfully written novel with the author's own historical background playing a role. I usually enjoy a Diana gabaldon novel, but as I wait for her next installment in the outlander series, I was more than pleasantly surprised with ms. Simons. Read this book and the two that follow you will be hooked. I just finished the summer garden and I am wanting to start over, paullina continues to develop her characters until the last page and with this knowledge it makes you want to start it all over again. Enjoy! Thank you paullina for such a great series!!

Irritating. Too many nicknames given to the protagonist made it vexing to follow. The intimate nature of this piece was also too much like Fifty Shades of Grey. I enjoyed many parts of the novel, particularly what was relative to history, however I would not recommend this for anyone looking for a good realistic fiction about WWII.

MISSING 100+ PAGES!!!. This is my favorite book of all time, I fall for and root for these characters, and can never put it down. However, the iBook version is missing 100+ pages in the chapter "scenting spring" which is severely disappointing!!! Buy the book regardless and hopefully they will fix this problem soon.

EPIC LOVE. I am a true hopeless romantic, and this book is a hopeless romantic dream come true. I have never read a book that made me feel so much. I have never read such beautiful writing before. I felt the pain, desperation, passion, and the love they had for each other. This book starts on the first day of WW2 in Lennigard, and on Tania's way to get groceries for her family she meets Alexander. After spending the day together, Tania realizes that Alexander is the same soldier that her older sister is in love with. Alexander wants nothing more than to just be with her but Tania is so selfless and she loves her sister too much to hurt her. So this results in Alexander taking long walks with Tania after she gets done with work. On these long walks they have talks and fall in love. We learn that Alexander has a big secret that could cost him his life, and he trust Tania with this secret. However, once winter comes, Tania and her family are left in Lennigard fighting for their very lives because of the Lennigard blockade.When I say you feel, with this book, I mean you feel everything. The author describes the hardships of that blockade, I felt like I was right there with Tania. The cold of winter, the hunger, the pain of seeing people around you dying, it felt to real. It was described so well. And through it all you can feel the love Alexander and Tania have for each other and how much they sacrifice for each other because of that love. Alexander needed to trust Tania, and Tania needed Alexander to be brave. It was absolutely beautiful. Bring your tissues, and get ready for the best love story of all time. Favorite quotes: “Love is,” she repeated slowly, looking only at Dasha, “when he is hungry and you feed him. Love is knowing when he is hungry.” I’m a soldier in the Soviet Union. I could die any minute a thousand different ways to Sunday. This might be the last minute we will have together. Best book ever!. I haven read a book so great in a long time! It is my new favorite book. The entire trilogy is amazing. So romantic, and the author develops the characters so well that you feel every minute of their love, despair, everything! I cried when it was finished. Definitely recommend!

I'm in love!. If you love classic great books this one is the one for you! Please read this because it will make you believe in real love and remember the past as you have not ever questioned.

Its ok if you like romance novels. The was a book club pick so not one i would have chosen. The setting is interesting, russia during WW2. Its a love story between a man who loves one sister but dating the other. I dont really enjoy romance drama and there's quite a bit of "longing", clandestine meetings, misunderstandings the lead to long periods of avoiding each other, etc.

The Bronze Horseman. This is the best of my all-time favorites, a beautiful and tender love story in the midst of world history. Never before have I realized the extent of the personal devastation to the people of Leningrad. Simons bring all of this history to the reader and wraps your arms around the two central characters, Tatiana and Alexander. When the novel ends, you are wishing for more.... and she gives it to you in the next one, a sequel. i loved it.

Last Days. The book was very good partly because the ending was not a happy ever after. But I really wish it was.

This book deserves more than 5 stars!. Absolutely one of the best reads of my life. I fell in love with the characters Tatiana and Alexander, never a dull moment. Must read the subsequent novels in this series as well!

Long but good. I'm a little surprised how quickly I got through this book, lots of traveling helped since I read on planes and trains. Overall I loved it, it was frustrating at times but that's love and life. *SPOILER* there was some hope I held that their luck of love would prevail but it had to end the way it did, still a good book, she still makes it despite she's without Alexander.

Best book. This book is the best book I've EVER read in my life! Romance, history, war, death, love...it has everything. If you loved the romance of twilight, this is better times ten and minus the vampires. I highly recommend, don't let the title fool you.

Disappointing. I loved this book when I first read it and would recommend it to anyone but the ebook seems to missing a large part of the story from part 3. It makes the last part of the book confusing. Better just getting the paperback.

Missing a bunch of chapters. Love this book but it's missing about 73 pages from the paperback in the Lazerevo scene. Was missing the same pages on kobo too. Not impressed

WoW. This book is missing about 100 pages of the too main characters, alone together, what the ???

Missing pages?. Why do the ebook versions all have missing pages??

it's missing some chapters..... I realized that the iBook version was missing a big chunk in the middle about their time Lazerevo....very disappointing. Did anyone else notice this?
