I guess I just didn't get it. I kept waiting for there to be a point, or at least an attempt at a story line. The end was particularly odd to me.

Buy it. Found this to be laugh out loud, delightful meditation on the soul of sexuality as it should be. Shades of Naked Lunch without the violence. Offers a great opportunity for a book club selection.

House of holes. Interesting enough and well written in a "through the looking glass" way. But without a plot nor depth of character interaction it tires. But since I don't think anyone will ever do something like this and it's originality I expect it will become quite an 'avant garde' read and therefore a classic of some form such as "Pulp Fiction" the movie. I'm curious to see what women think of this. And if as many say it's pornographic it was not physically stimulating.

Read The Fermata or VOX instead.. This book is dirty, in a sort of unpleasant, cheap way. What made The Fermata so great was that all the silly dirtiness served a purpose - it helped you understand the main character and his attempt to rationalize his behavior. In this book, the characters are shallow, ill defined vehicles for sexual innuendo and verbal trickery. It's funny and amusing for about two chapters - and then turns insipid.
