CAPTAIN. meh. Kinda lame

TYPOS. A decent read, not the best in the Horus Hershey. Please fixes the typos: No quotations, but < or > signs on these pages: 161, 2 on 164, 170, 173, 184, 2 on 192, 200, 2 on 224, 268, 272, finally 3 on 273. Those need to be fixed, especially, after charging $16 it should have no errors.

Great read…. This fills in so many areas of what happened on Mars to set it outside the war to take earth. Good story line and characters.

Not worth the price. It's a good book that gives an in depth look into the mechanicus as the Horus Heresy spreads to Mars. Unfortunately with that said its not worth what they are charging for the ebook. Back when it was $6-7 it was but not at $16. Find a used paperback copy and enjoy. 4 stars for the book but minus 3 for the price.

Too expensive. Too expensive for a low end pulp science fiction novel. I’ve been plowing through the Horus Heresy for the last few weeks. At 16 per book, this habit is getting expensive quick. So I have decided to jump ship and just ordered a used paperback copy of Mechanicum elsewhere for 4. I will no longer be considering buying any digital Black Library releases at this unreasonable price, considering the length and quality of these novels, sorry.

Epic but engaging. I'm reading through the Heresy series in order and have to admit I thought a full novel about the Martian Mechanicum was going to be a bit too much filler after lots of Astrates novels. Weirdly though it turns out to be one of the most interesting and human novels, and it offsets some of the epic battles (which would be great as a movie or war game) with smaller character stories. As the author himself states in his addendum it was also great to have some very ordinary humans and several female characters, including the main character - given WH40K does tend to be a bit of a boys only universe. You get plenty of massive battles, politics, conspiracy, slaughter, honour and gritty last stands - but you also get to see where the future bleakness comes from and some characters who have to think their way out of problems rather than hack them to pieces with massive funny named swords. Great stuff.

I was not a fan of this book. been reading the series to this book. I was expecting a heck of a lot more than what i read. Generally it was slow, didnt really connect with the characters, there was little to no action and personally i found the writing confusing.

Excellent insight into the Mechanicum. I found this book thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. Good characters and a great buildup to a foregone conclusion. I thoroughly enjoy Graham's works and this one stood out for me due to its great coverage of the strategic action and the personal stories within. I hope Graham expands the number of Mechanicum books.
